Well, the enigma continues... lowest-paid non-rookie starter in a while, I think. And still plugging away as an average NFL QB - 15th in passer rating, 16th in QBR.

Not a bad deal for the Bucs.

They're 3-4, and he's the starter. He's never been any good.

Never liked Baker until he came to the Rams. Since then he’s been much more humble and definitely gotten better

Funny enough, in around the same tier Byron Leftwich was as a player.

Mediocre starting QB in the NFL is, of course, incredibly good. But he’s not winning anybody any championships. He’s Derek Carr but cheap.

There are only three or four QBs under 30 with more career wins than him.

Man, we had a bad run of top 5 QB draft picks in the mid to late teens, didn't we. Virtually all of them look like they should have been drafted where Dak was in rd 4.
2015- Winston/ Mariota- backups on other teams from that that drafted them
2016-Goff/ Wentz- Goff solid starter on his second team, Wentz unwanted.
2017- Trubisky- Backup on a different team
2018- Mayfield/ Darnold- on their 4th and 3rd team respectively. Darnold- career backup. Mayfield- lower tier starter/backup
2019- Murray-OROY, Some great moments, some terrible moments. TBD how it plays out when he gets back from his injury. Still a midget and not necessarily talking about his stature as much as between the ears.

I'd be interested on the scout reports on Mariotta and Winston. They seem like obviously flawed players who got hype off their college performance.

Jameis threw a lot of picks in college.

Jameis was 25 18 his last year

18 picks in college is a shit ton.

Yeah, him and Darnold both were turnover machines in college and that never changed. At some point, that red flag should be more obvious to scouts and GMs, one would think.

He's a legit starting NFL QB... not a very good one, but he's a legit starter.

I say no right now, but this season will tell a lot. I want to see how he reacts to adversity.

One thing is for sure: the media crowned his ass as a star way too early. He hasn't done shit in the NFL. The Browns in general got crowned before doing jack.
I agree!
