I guess I'm not in that locker room and who knows the whole story but from some of the stuff I've heard, he wasn't really "chummy" with his team mates. They took that as him thinking he was better then them or whatever. Who knows, the kid is a pretty quiet guy and that could come across as being aloof or whatever. Consistently losing can make somebody shy away from things too but different strokes for different folks. I doubt he was terrible in the locker room but maybe it just rubbed guys the wrong way. Especially the Rah-rah types. I find with the majority of these rumors that it's a little of both sides, like most things in life.

Whats funny is that Lombardi had 2-3 podcasts where he was talking about how great Hoyer was and was shocked that he wasn't starting somewhere.

Bc he doesn't give them tge best chance to win, he doesn't fit their system and style. They were running more and not getting anything out of it. Most likely they will be better plus he was a drag in the locker room, for the reason he is used to winning and didn't like it.

Solid win last week, but really? I'm curious to see how their style fares when it turns cold up there.

I really did not hear any of the locker room problems... if he was a cancer in the locker room then i will recant my hatred of Cleveland that was brought on by this weeks win and trade...

I don't think it had any effect with the trade, just a competitive guy that was frustrated. The trade was solely on him not fitting the mold that they are trying to build. It is what it is. But I really thing TRich is overrated. Bradshaw will start over him, he is a better RB.

The league is changing and the whole staff basically changed. A power type of RB doesn't help them at all from the Browns view.

But how can you defend the argument that the Browns are better off with rainey, ogbayane and mcgahee instead of Richardson?? Again this thread is not about future value of this trade... it is about them winning yesterday...

Oh...I got you...I would not have traded my best skill position player on OFC, but you're right, the league is more of a passing league now. Speedy guys like Reggie Bush, or Sproles as your primary ball carrier don't have a long history of success. That's why I say I'm curious to see how it works out...especially when the temps hit 25 degs on game day.

They played one of the worst teams in football right now and barely squeaked out a win. Somebody has to win these games. You have to remember players and coaches are not just going to lay down for a whole season just to improve draft position. These guys are playing for their careers. IF the Browns lost every game this year you think that coaching staff would still be there come next year? If these players stunk it up do you think they would get the contract they want next year? The answer to both of those is most likely NO. All of these guys coaches and Players have plenty to keep playing for. Even ownership has some on the line in what happens if they lose the fans by not keeping games competitive? Ticket Sales drop, memorabilia sales go down big time, and so much more. Everybody in this situation has a ton to lose by the team losing all or most of their games this year just to get better draft picks next year.

Richardson said that the Colts schemes were somewhat similar to the Browns and he was already pretty comfortable. What's he do? 13 carries, 35 yards, 1 TD. 2.7 ypc. If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what to tell you. And I'm a Richardson fan myself. I was in denial myself, but now I'm seeing it. He's just a power back who isn't explosive. He doesn't fit what the Browns want to do now.

No dog in this for me, but as an NFL fan.

This is my take here...the new regime was not as enamored with Trich as the previous regime was...they also know Weeden is not the long term solution...they realize he had some value in Richarson and they decided to trade him while they thought his value was the highest. Now they have two 1st round picks to re-address both positions with their own picks.

This spin BS they have put out there makes no sense.

So another cleveland win... Drives me nuts... Makes the trent richardson trade look worse and worse everytime they win... They ran the ball 20+ times still, so explain to me how they are really a better team without their best runner??

By the time the Browns are competitive Richardson will be shot, it happens to all RBs. Get another first rounder and start building the team the way you want it to be built. My initial reaction was wow they're idiots but I think they may be ok. With the exception of maybe a handful of guys RBs are a dime a dozen.

Sounds like they have Ben Tate in their plans for the offseason. If they threw some money at him and gave him the starting role, people would forget about Trent pretty fast. He's a solid RB, but his injury issues really have caught up to him. He doesn't have anywhere near the burst he did just 2 years ago in college.

I actually think this front office finally has the right mentality: we're going to get the people WE want in here, no matter where the last regime drafted them. Weeden will be gone soon, and so will Greg Little. We have an excellent young nucleus to build around in Gordon, Cameron, and the number of great players on defense. I like Hoyer but he's only going to take them so far. I say keep him as long as possible and draft a QB this coming year. Someone like Bridgewater or Hundley would work great in Turner's offense. Add another young WR to the mix and get some defensive back help and this is a playoff team sooner rather than later.

I am not talking about the actual trade... I think cleveland probably won the trade, I just have a problem with the timing of the trade... Cleveland was finally getting there best WRs back, their defense has been playing well all season, so they were finally going to be the team that many of us picked as a sleeper playoff team(including me). I am sure they too thought they can compete, so why trade your best runner how does that help your team for now?? They made the trade after week 2, when they were 0-2 and first place was 1-1!!!

It looks like it helped them and partly influenced them to put Hoyer on field, I guess he fits the system or he is just better than Weeden. Anyway, Richardson was getting paid all that for 3 yds/carry. Seems like they are fine w/o him and his 3 yards

Weeden was hurt they had to go either cambell or Hoyer... Cambell is a bum, they had no choice but to go Hoeyr!!!

Ok if he is doing the same thing that 3 RB's are doing that are getting paid much less. How does that not sound better, the same thing but an extra 1st rounder. They didn't lose anything, now that I really look at it. Trent is always going to be the 3 yds/carry guy, very sledom he will be your homerun guy or gashing the D guy.

GM Lombardi was pressuring Chud to make this move for awhile now. I would of expected this move eventually even if Weeden wasn't hurt. For some reason Lombardi has always liked this guy since college and when he was on New England. The injury just forced Chud to do it.

Shane, i see you are a cleveland person, so i appreciate you backing up your team... Trent had a very good rookie season, and he only played 2 games for cleveland this season, your defense looks like blind fandom...
