I'm guessing you're down for Mickey Calloway being fired?
I don't really care, go ahead and let him ride out his contract. It's not like this team would replace him with anyone marginally better (and most better managers wouldn't want the job in the first place).
I'm guessing there are more than a few out there..and yes, some that are much better, and perhaps even a few lesser knowns who would love managing this team in spite of who the owners are,and with the media circus in NYC being what it is.
But as they say...we shall see.
FTR: I'm willing to give him at least until the AS break next year.
So long, Mickey....been nice knowin' ya....lol
Mets part ways with manager Mickey Callaway
Mets fire Callaway after 2-year manager stint
• Prior to joining the Mets, Callaway served as pitching coach for five seasons under Terry Francona in Cleveland, winning the American League pennant in 2016. In New York, he succeeded Terry Collins, the Mets’ longest-tenured manager, who remains in the organization as an advisor.
• Candidates to replace Callaway include unemployed managers with significant resumes, such as Joe Maddon, Joe Girardi and Buck Showalter, as well as internal options including incumbent quality control coach Luis Rojas. But competition will be stiff. Managerial openings exist in Chicago, Anaheim, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, San Diego and San Francisco, with possibly more still to come. If the Mets have their sights set on an established name, they may need to act quickly.
