iPhone Suggestions

I bought the wife and I iPhone 5s last week. Any suggestions for cool apps and accessories?

Please don't turn this into an iPhone vs Android vs Blackberry thread. I've had all three, they've all been pretty good.

They were doing a promotion to upgrade for no money down and only a $4 a month increase on our bill, so I jumped on it. We upgraded from 2 year old Samsungs, so we're good. I don't have to have the newest of the new.

I downloaded Score mobile already, which I like. Not sure which news app to get... corporate news

Anybody know a good Reddit interface app?

Your bank most likely has an app which is helpful for keeping up with your accounts.

Download the NSA app, oh wait it comes preloaded.




Anyway, I like Waze for GPS, and mercury for web browsing. I also use Lumosity. Some of it is free.

Here are the ones I use:

Inrix - good traffic app
Weather Channel - no reason
Find my Friends - get it on both your phones so you know where each other are. The wife and I use it all the time, typically in "I can't handle anymore of this two year old, when will my wife get home".
MLB.com app - duh
Fantasy team apps
Facebook/twitter - if you use em
Flixster - movie time en sech
Google App - safari sucks
Gasbuddy - never use, but cool to see local gas prices
Amazon - quick price checks when I'm bored or looking at something in a store
WingStop - can order on your phone. SWEET
KeyRing - snap pictures of all those reward cards and thin out the wallet
GrupHub - easy way to find restaraunts around you that deliver
Redbox/Youtube/netflix/Amazon Prime - streaming videos if you subscribe or rent DVDs
Shazam - to identify that song that you can't quite place the band name
Pulse news - good collection of news stories that aren't a biased aggregator


For fun garbage apps:
5-0 Radio Free - police scanner
Tosh.0 - clips of his show
GoSkyWatch - not free, but cool because you point it at the sky and it tells you the constellations and planets that you can see.

Also Siri is pretty much useless except for two things: Sports scores and schedules and you can say "Rotten Tomatoes-movie" and it'll pull up the ratings which is great for redboxes.

If you come in here on your phone which I do most times you end up clicking usernames when trying to enter threads so you look like a stalker... Other than that it's awesome!

Also if you push the power button at the top at the same time as you push the round button that gets Siri it takes screen shots...

You can zoom in when photographing by touching the screen and widening your fingers...

Don't have many apps because my phone is full of kid games... but if you have youngsters there are many educational games...also if you paid for an app/music and erase it on accident you can download again free...

You probably didn't need much of my advice since the others covered all the good stuff but those were a a few things I found out accidentally...
