Iowa Basketball to the Bahamas??

I saw an article that said the Battle 4 Atlantis (end of November) needs an 8th team after Michigan St dropped out. Rumors are out there that we might drop out of the Great Alaskan Shootout to get into this one. Competition wise, it's a huge step up. The field for the B4A includes Kansas, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Villanova, Xavier, USC, and UTEP. RPI wise, this would be huge for tourney hopes next year.

Personally, I hope they do it. It would be fun to see how the stack up against a field like this.

I think it is a good idea too, the Alaska tourney basically has Harvard as the other biggest name team, but that would suck for the Alaska tourney. Wonder if there is a contract or guaranteed money or anything. Still, Alaska or the Bahamas, hmm..yeah no brainer even without the quality of teams, I am headed to the beach!

As long as the RPI exists you have to play a tough non conference schedule. Iowa will be a top 25 team next season, beating Kansas puts Iowa in the top 15.

According to Jon Miller at HawkeyeNation the Iowa Men's basketball team will play in the Atlantis tournament in the Bahama's instead of the Alaskan Shootout.

I don't know if anyone has seen Kansas' non-con schedule but it's a bit ridiculous. B4A, Georgetown, Colorado, New Mexico and a few other decent teams. They'll be tested early and ready come March.
