I don't think it will... I think it will just be a fun fighting show with an entertaining enough plot...

I really like the universe it is set in but I'm a hater of Martial Arts with wires with a passion. I'm a little more forgiving with this show since it obviously has mystical elements but it'd be so much better if more fight scenes played out like the one with the Widow and the Baron. The only one who should be jumping 20 feet into the air is the Colt kid (MK?) and only when he's cut.

I will continue watching because the acting is good for the most part and the story is keeping me interested but I won't be surprised if I get tired of all the wire fight scenes.

True that. Not a big fan of wire fight scenes either, lessin of course they are ninjas

Loved the scene in the bar with the Widow. Bet she carves a mean turkey.

I never watched another episode after the pilot. I guess if I never had the interest to watch ep 2 when push came to shove, time to remove it from my DVR.

I will leave the door open to a binge catch up if the season gets good reviews, but right now, I am out.

Excuse my ignorance, what is "martial arts with wires"?

I've enjoyed it so far. But I'm getting so sick of all the shows I watch having shorter and shorter seasons. The season finale coming up is only episode 7. I'm looking forward to seeing how far they even intended to take this season, but shows that don't wrap up any story lines in a season and just carry everything over get on my nerves.

I have been pretty impressed with the acting too, at least for what the show is. The main butterfly girl obviously gave up a little in the looks department compared to everyone else they cast, but I would guess the pool of teenage martial artist stunt women who can act was rather limited. And she is proving to be a good little actress. The main Baron over-acts a shit ton, but I think that is what they wanted from him, just an over the top character. The only real casting that I don't think worked out was MK, that kid can't act at all. But it's understandable, with a TV budget they pretty much had to cast stuntman and hope they could act rather than cast actors and try to pull off the fight scenes.

I guess the term in the industry is "wire fu", it's a subgenre that combines wire work and kung fu. Wires augment the ability of stuntmen and actors in fight scenes, that's why you see people staying in the air much longer than physically possible in these fight scenes. The Matrix, Crouching Tiger. Hidden Dragon, Kill Bill and House of Flying Daggers are some well known examples of movies that use this technique.

The series is decent brain candy... I enjoy watching it when accompanied by an adult beverage.

That was a surprise. I was like :wtf2:..

Widow is yummy. Loved that heel to the throat.

Great show. I think I'm going to like the addition of Nick Frost.

They certainly upped the gore didn't they? Solid episode, possibly some of the best self-aware brain candy on television.
