on the downside I was hoping for the Jets and/or Browns to win this week.

the winner of the Pittsburgh/Baltimore next week creeps back into the division hunt. Pittsburgh has a better division record than the Bengals. Baltimore has a head to head win. The winner of that game is essentially a game and half back of the Bengals (even if they beat SD) with another head to head game later in the season..

The Steelers in particular scare me

All we have to do is take care of our own business. If we let the Steelers or Ravens catch us it's totally on us.........plus the Steelers and Ravens meet Thursday night, which will effectively eliminate one of them, unless we fall apart, and if that happens I don't want to go to the playoffs.

Forget about pitt and balt for now. We're gonna have our hands full with SD next week, somehow they've crept back into the playoff hunt and are playing better.

I'm thinking more of the two seed. To get that we must close strong, and if we do, there's nothing the Ravens or Steelers can do about it.

I'm glad SD beat the Chiefs. There's a good chance they'll have a letdown off that one. Rivers is good, but he blows hot and cold. There's not a game left on the schedule we can't win.

I'm not looking past SD at all..

Rivers is playing at an elite level which makes it a tough game no matter what...

just talking general playoff picture ideas

The key it to get pressure on him. In a clean pocket he can pick you apart. he has absolutely no mobility though

We can bring heat, and we are rated second by PFF in coverage, even with Hall out......He's good, but so are we.....

After this year is over, we won't be able to complain about the position we were in before the stretch drive. Everything is lined up just right for us. We just have to win.

SD will be tough IN SD. I don't see them having a letdown game considering they're fighting for their playoff lives.

Indy seems like it'll be a walk in the park.

SD's defense today made Alex Smith look like Peyton Manning....................

KC lost their two pass rushers today, which I think had much to do with Rivers having a clean pocket all day.......

Next week should be a good litmus test for the defense post Atkins and Hall injuries. it's the first time they'll be tested by top passing offense.

with a bye week to prepare it's the type of game a contender should win.

Isn't Marvin the anti Andy Reid coming off a bye?

I just looked it up. he's 4-6 which is terrible.

He did coach mostly mediocre to sub-par teams before the last couple seasons though

hopefully he can break the trend

Thank you for looking it up. I thought his record was worse, not that 4-6 is anything to be proud of.

He also had a team that started awful this season in Baltimore after a 10 day break.

Marvin hasn't figured out how to use the rest to his team's advantage. Expect a sloppy first half next Sunday.

With regards to Indy.....

Do you guys think it's just a lack of depth? They've had a few significant injuries and have not played well at all after the injuries. Two blow-outs against teams *considered* the third and fourth best teams in the NFC West -- This after beating the top two teams. And they should have lost in Houston..... That game swung on the Kubiak halftime incident. They even looked terrible for half the game in Tennessee.

They have the same problem they had when Manning was their QB. They either have a terrible scouting department or their GM this time around is just as bad as their previous GM (and judging by the Richardson trade, that may be the case). Manning made them look formidable before, and now Luck is making them seem decent in a much worse AFC.

So, looking at it from top to bottom, they've never had a great deal of talent on the roster anywhere on the field, but the little they did have has been decimated by injuries. So, yes depth is a big issue for them.
