Pitchers must lick their chops when they play us... Good thing we could get 2 runs off a starting pitcher with a 6.00 :scratch:era going into today's game...

Not much to add. They are what they are. They don't score unless the hit homers

Its obvoius some of the players need to begin spring training a month or two early next year, that way theyll be warmed up when the season starts instead of several months into the season....

It doesnt help when we having a coaching staff that enables laziness.

Last 17 games this team has only scored over 4 runs, 2x's (5 & 7)...

Against Cleveland so far, we've scored 3, 2, 3... Before this series, Cleveland's pitching staff was 23rd in MLB... As of today, they're 19th thanks to the poor hitting skills of the Seattle Mariners...

This team is 28th in MLB in runs scored w/ an avg of 3.73 runs scored per game... Just sad...

I had another day of thinking real hard about the M's and why we can't hit with RISP and it hit me...our hitters suck so why do we expect them to be any better with RISP? 25th in the majors in average. 25th!!! And what makes it worse is that Houston is 29th and running away with the lead. Why? How? Houston is 6th in SLG% while we are a respectable 14th which is the only reason we are .500. I know this is nothing new to M's fans, but like so many on here have posted Jack's love for the long ball kills us.

I believe, and I could be way off base here, that the double should be the standard you look for in a hitter and not the homer. Yes there are exceptions like a Griffey or a Cruz, but I am talking for your non 4 & 5 hitters. I love the big boppers in the middle, but seems like Jack wants them all up and down the lineup.

We are 24th in doubles, but 4th in homers. All-or-nothing just like our team. We are dead middle in triples at 15 which triple to me indicate athleticism more than anything which we are about average there as well.

Well that is my rant for this Sunday. Go Mariners!!!

#1 K pitching staff vs a very good (good as in bad) K lineup in Mariners. That equals doom for us with all the empty (K) AB's.

Our hitters are 9th (as in 9th most) in K's and 19th in walks. That needs to be reversed to have a chance at scoring runs.

I tend to think what Houston is doing isn't sustainable. I know it's easy to say but unless they make a move I don't think they have enough pitching and the hitting outside of Altuve isn't proven. The one thing that is giving me the most hope is I don't think the AL West is very good at all.

IMO hitting with RISP is luck. It will even out over time . The main thing is creating opportunities to cash in with High average/OBP guys. They have been towards the bottom in AVG and OBP in all 7 years of Jack. I can't remember the exact numbers but I don't think they have even been around league average in either category any year.

And one more stat to make your day, we are 25th in SB% at 56.41%!!!! Rickey Henderson use to say if you can't be at 75% you have no business stealing bases.

Batting Averages in the Jack Z era:

2009: 22nd
2010: 30th (last)
2011: 30th (last)
2012: 30th (last)
2013: 28th
2014: 23rd
2015: 26th (so far) I think 11 hits last night brought them up from 28th.

So even the best season was in the bottom 3rd.

Just another way Lloyd overrates Jackson. Overrates him in every possible way.

Absolutely. I guess the ultimate way of overrating him would be to sign him to an extension. Gawd NO!

Not a good sign for the M's. Salazar leads mlb with the most K's per 9 innings.

Good thing Zunino isn't in the lineup today
