It looks like a mass exodus and a major dumpster fire going on right now... but what about the impact of the changes? Maybe not so bad?
Frank Gore - locker room leader but he's 31, and he's lost a step. Indy/Philly will end up overpaying. I'm surprised there's such strong demand for him. I'd rather go after Murray or even a CJ Spiller who's a home run threat, or look to the draft for an RB. Pay 7.5M for 2 years to a 31 turning 32 year old RB? Hyde and Hunter will be fine.
Willis retirement - hate to see him leave, but we were fine with Borland and Wilhoite at LB. Bowman might come back in which case we should be fine.
Iupati leaving - run game will suffer, but he was bad at pass protection. Someone said they'd rather pay Boone, I kind of agree because he can be the swing tackle.
Crabtree - good riddance, Torrey Smith >>> Crabtree. Still have Boldin.
Justin Smith - Hopefully he comes back. I think what hurts more here is the combination of Smith and McDonald both leaving. Carradine/Dial/Dockett have to step up. I think we'll be ok.
Skuta - we should be ok we have Lynch
So maybe if anything we are giving up age and depth, but we'll get younger in the process.
It does look real bad on paper though. Looks like a mass exodus from the national media point of view.
