I'm starting to buy in on this team in the playoffs

Really should try to win the division, we don't have a lockdown ace for the play in game.

BUT

I'm starting to think we are looking at the vanguard of something. This plug and play team full of good to near great hitters (vs teams with 1-3 studs then meh), the mix and match bullpen driven pitching (vs teams with legit lockdown aces)...maybe this is OPTIMIZED for the playoffs? Who knows, it's new.

And maybe not, maybe we're one of the many very strong regular season teams who don't win rings. Very common in baseball. I just think FZ And Kapler have really done a great job on maximizing the teams strengths (flexibility, cohesion, quality at every roster spot, vet leadership) and minimizing the weaknesses (no shutdown ace, no monster MVP level masher).

This team has as good a shot as any, exciting as hell this year being a fan

Our pitching is solid .. nothing or no one clearly outstanding but pretty damn solid from top to bottom. No 'ace' to really speak of. But our top 3 in the rotation are solid (usually)

The hitting is the key for our team. Pure and simple ... our 1 through 8 batters can all hurt you. Almost all of the them are at 20 to 20+ homers.
We are not talking about 2 mashers at 35 and then the next highest is 14. We have a full line up that can take advantage of any pitching mistakes that are made. We don't have a Scherzer or a Vlad Jr . But whatever it is that we have .... it has gotten us the BRIB ....

Just want us to hold on to this lead we have ... really don't want it all to come down to a damn 1 game WC match .... IMHO a one game series is nothing more than a crapshoot....
