I'm rewatching the ISU game

Something I've noticed is that on some of these zone-reads where Green makes the correct read and takes off running, he only gets 1 maybe 2 yards, whereas Martinez would have been gone on some of those plays. A couple in particular Green had about 35 yards of wide open space ahead of him but he just doesn't have the speed on his first few steps like Martinez does.

I like Green and I admire the way he has hung in there and fought through all this..........he was a big name QB coming out of high school and this has to be tough for him to sit and watch a Freshman start.

But Martinez could have made this a 2 TD win for us I think.

I'm not rewatching the game cuz I just can't do it........ I don't think I have EVER rewatched a game within the first year of the game....



However- when I was watching I could help but notice a lot of those plays you are talking about- Green is more of a Josh Freeman- where Martinez is Pat White.....

If Watson would toss the ball around with Green in there- the offense would have much better success.... Green would then be able to use his feet via scrambles..... this suits him much better than the zone read.....

Martinez has a crazy first step..... It seems within his 3rd step he is already full speed- by the time he gets to the linebackers- he is passed the linebackers......




Having a new QB come in the game- and not changing the fucking play calling is fucking stupid.......... I keep bitching about watson- but it's Bo's 3rd year now and this shit is still going on....... It's about time the blame goes from Watson for being a dumbass to Bo for putting up with his Dumbass........

Yea 2 TDs........maybe more 3 or 4. It depends really on momentum. Maybe Martinez running a couple of long ones would have completely destroyed Iowa State's mentality in this game.

There just wasn't any part of this game where we dominated and said "yea we're just better than you".........Iowa State felt like they were right in it the whole time and that's why they ended up right in it.

I mean honestly, who didn't see this coming??? If Iowa State somehow beat Nebraska then all they had left was Colorado and they host Missouri.........they would be in the driver's seat for the Big 12 North (as crazy as that sounds), and they would have had a great shot at it.

All the ISU players were bawling their eyes out after the game in the locker room............this game meant WAY more to them than it did to us.........and as usual ISU put up a good fight.

Yea.......105 year rivalry, and Nebraska has kicked them around throughout the entire series............Iowa State sees Nebraska as a bigger rivalry game than they do Iowa
