When I was at the game on Wednesday and we were down 7-1 I thought the season was over! I was frustrated with the poor play and didn't see how it would end. I thought we'd lose that game and then the Angels and CJ would beat us on Thursday to pull within 1 game. It's crazy how things can turn around so quickly. From potentially having our lead down to 2 to turning the game around and winning 3 straight to get our lead over the Angels up to 6. Now I think we need to focus on the A's as they're only 4.5 games out.

We need to just focus on playing solid baseball and keeping this momentum going. Not looking over our shoulder. You're right though, things changed in the middle of one ball game.

I tend to agree with the scores of analysts out there who think the A's won't be able to sustain this level of play. They've got some nice young pitching with Parker, Millone, McCarthy, and Straily, but their hitters are playing way over their heads. Reddick is the only legit hitter on the team (and Cespedes, when he's not injured, which he is again). Weeks, Crisp, Carter, Gomes, Inge, Suzuki... all very mediocre hitters who have been taking turns playing the hero. It will catch up to them. They'll probably stay in contention for that 2nd wild card spot, but I'm not worried about them overtaking the Rangers.

It was looking real bad, I agree, but look at the July standings and it explains a lot of things.

Wednesday's Night game is the Biggest Win of the Season right now. After Ianetta the Pujos both homered off of Nathan, The angels were getting ready to read the Rangers their Last Rights.
