a team with 4 stanley cups on the verge of moving. they may have been a really bad team the last few years or so but they have a history and a Cup display that can rival most teams in the history of the NHL the Isles of the 80s were some of the best teams around. good that they have a couple years to get something worked out. I hope the NHL does the right thing here and get in there to help. good luck isles fans.

Long Island and Atlanta were awarded expansion franchises in '73 and in 2011 one franchise has moved and it's not looking good for the Islanders this morning.

i would consider it the biggest black eye on the NHL in its history to lose that team. maybe Im just being sentimental but that team/city just belongs in the NHL to me. I would love to see it return to glory and battle the Devils and Rangers every year.

Simple, the local politicians weren't going to get a lot of money out of it.

Word is the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Queens wants the Islanders. Brooklyn & Suffolk county are possibilities as well.

Apparently there's some big developer who has plans for a mini city. I read about the possibility on islandermania.

Queens & Brooklyn are much better options. Chuck is supposedly going to have a press release tomorrow morning. I know he's talked to the Brooklyn people. Today the people in charge of the Willets Point project moved back the deadline to submit project plans to September 9th. The deadline was to be a couple of days from now. So Queens is obviously interested in the Isles.
