Okay so it's August 1st & guess what it's raining in L.I. for the vote. The trains have been suspended or delayed for most of the day.

Supposedly some are back up & running. If this thing doesn't pass my team might MOVE.:sad:

I don't have a say in this because I don't even live on the East Coast. I've been reading what people have been saying on Islandermania & it doesn't look good. Most of the Yes vote will come from commuters tonight & the rainstorm has put a HUGE damper on things.

Turnout has apparently been low. The old folks don't care about a new arena. They don't want more taxes. The Commuters are the only hope Isles fans have left.

I've read they could just go to the legislature & see how they vote. If this fails. Chuck would need 2/3 of the legislature to vote Yes.

Here's the thing on the 3 to 1 vote ratio. It equates to 75 to 25. Turnout has been very low. Most polling stations don't even have 150 votes total. The Vote can be swayed big time by the commuters who 90 plus percent want the Isles to get a new arena. The hail & rain has made this very difficult because of the 90 minute to 2 hour delays.

According to reports over 4,000 votes have been received from absentee voters. Most on Islandermania think this is a good thing for Chuck. I really don't know.

The elderly have already voted. Now it's time for the Isles fans to get out & vote. Unfortunately the weather has put a damper on things. Somebody said another hail storm is expected around 7 PM EST.

Anyone, I would hate to see the Islanders move, nothing to do with easy wins either since the Islanders always played us well. It just sucks to see an owner REALLY fight to keep his team in the city only to have to move.

I hate the Isles... But they were fun to watch towards the end of last season. I would really like to see them stay in LI. I enjoy going there for away games.
