IMO. This team has grown up enough that the Michigan, Penn St, and Purdue losses are wins today.

Michigan State will probably be without their leader, Keith Appling for the game this weekend.....

But still, I'm being realistic......Michigan State is one of the best teams in the country. Literally can't be beat in East Lansing.

I hope we can compete.

Yeah. These types of games tonight against bottom dwellers we should expect to hang or win.

Mich St will likely crush Nebraska, but if we expected the Huskers to go in there and compete we'd be talking about a #4 seed in the big dance Nebraska as opposed to a NIT Nebraska.

We are just as worthy as Minnesota or Indiana for the NCAA tourney talk.........I don't give a shit what anyone says.

We played a much more difficult Non-Con than they did and we also beat both of those teams.

Nebraska is a legit 6th best team in the Conference right now.

I'll say this much.....

If a miracle happens and we somehow pull out a win in East Lansing.....we will be dancing this year.

The RPI would jump us up about 20 spots for that......and we would be in the spotlight just for the win alone.

Not happening. I hate to be the wet blanket, but it's like you forgot what just happened in Ann Arbor.

I know you used the word miracle, but it would take an act of god like a lightning bolt hitting coach Izzo 5 minutes in.

Win 5 more in the reg season and 2 in the Big 10 tourney and it won't be an issue.

No sir....

If you read all my posts, I certainly make it clear that I do not believe we stand a chance in East Lansing.

All I'm saying is, if we somehow do pull off a miracle, we would be dancing. Guaranteed.

I love me some Husker Basketball. This has been one of the most fun seasons to watch the Huskers in a long long long long time. Proud to see them compete in almost every game this year with only a few exceptions. I still do a :L several times a game, but whatever. It's a fun team to watch.

Let's win out at home boys and see where that takes us

Yep. I said on here earlier in the year that I didn't want to see him on the floor. He sure is proving me wrong.

Yeah we talked about size last week, I think. Evidence is Benny's defense last night on Rice, one of their best players and they isolated him on Benny by design and Benny shut that ass down more than once. Huge size advantage and Benny neutralized that with smarts, fundamentals and effort.

And another great performance by Walter as well. Played tough d, rebounded. Loved the opening dunk.

Also this game illustrated what great on ball defense the Huskers can play as a team. Not blocking shots or getting steals a lot, but just forcing the other team to take shots they really don't want to take. How many times did Illinois just iso and try to create when it was under 10 seconds left on the shot clock?

The day the Huskers play like that on D on the road is the day I really celebrate. Because that will mean post season lasts more than just one game and done and a turning point for the program.

Meantime, PBA is a beast!

I still didn't like petteway for most of the game last night. I still think he plays way too small for his size and he even looked whiny at times last night. I hope he's the next husker to surprise me after I talk badly about him :D

11-1 in the PBA with the lone loss to Michigan by one point on a missed put-back.

Not only does that do mental wonders for the Husker player's confidence at home, it will effect opponents minds.

Next step is getting that confidence on the road. You don't have to win em' all, but they need to win some of the coin flips against the mid-rangers and bottom dwellers. Stealing one @ Northwestern was a good start.

Take care of Penn St and Purdue at home and steal that game @ Illinois and they'll be the buzz.

One game at a time. I don't want to get ahead of ourselves because I feel like this season is teatering on the brink. They either finish really well, say 4-3. OR they lose any momentum they might have and the season turns into "what could have been" and they finish 2-5.

I agree with the one game at a time thing, but they'll have a monumental task @ Mich St. Nobody's gonna fault them for losing that.

It's the 3 after that that determines how and where they finish 2013/14.

I can remember getting up to 6th place in the Big XII and thinking "hey, it's finally clicking" only to have my heart ripped out watching them play down to a fellow bottom dweller and go on a losing streak to wind up 11th or 12th as usual.

I think Miles likes how this team has grown up. He's seeing dividends. Heck he fist pumped when he knew they were in critical points in the game last night and they managed to pull through and take control back. They actually finished a team off with a few minutes left on the clock.
