Coming off a big win over Miami with a big road trip to Michigan St looming the following week.

I smell a potential bofart.

1st game in B1G play won't be taken lightly by the players regardless of the opponent.

I always respect your opinion RA. I just disagree about this being a let down game. Who knows though. We have a pretty good read on this team now and it suggests they are prone to hubris, so you could be on to something.

I can see it happening in past seasons for sure.

The reason I don't see it happening this time- outstanding leadership.

Ameer Abdullah's worth to this team, I think, is far greater than we've imagined. There's not one player on the team who will question his leadership and that is huge. He called out his own offensive line the week before the game and look how they responded.

I'm in hopes the disappointment in the defense will keep everyone focused that there's more work to do. I'd be more concerned had Nebraska played a complete game Saturday.

I do trust in Ameer keeping the O-line focused like he said he would.

You beat me to it. I remember the Tebow speech.

Week 5 to see if the defense can get it's assignments down. It's this way every season.

Randy Gregory better be busting his ass to get back in shape because he looked like he was gonna pass out on the field for most of the game.

All those guys are still not in game shape according to ex players. Specifically the defense.

I see it being a trap game as well, but I think Nebraska hangs on to win. I believe I have Nebraska winning 35-31.

I've went back and forth on it. I think we'll give up quite a bit on Defense but fortunately our Offense is gonna roll.

I'd be surprised not to see Beck throw it more this game.

I think Bo dropped the word "technique" 20 times in his presser today. Never once mentioned a lack of pass rush or getting shoved around physically. He said "We should have stopped them for a seven yard gain but missed a tackle and gave them 25".

More of the same Bend But Don't Break, X's and O's philosophy that leads to eventual blowouts when someone punches you in the mouth all day. Hopefully the offense can keep Nebraska in those games
Maybe I'm just too old school were finesse wasn't part of defense. You played hard nosed and brought the heat on occasion. You didn't play on your heels.

It's like holding an opponent to only a 7 yd gain is success in Bo's philosophy.

Very very true. The defense has struggled for sure but I'm thinking they'll get better. Thin though. Gonna cross my fingers we don't lose any more of the big guys in front.

A lot of times when a team has come off a game where they played at an emotional peak, no matter how hard they try, sometimes they are just emotionally spent the next week. Hopefully they'll have enough in their emotional tanks to win this Saturday.

A couple of perfect examples of this was back in 1984 after clobbering UCLA on their home field and the next week going all the way to the other side of our country and not having enough left in their tanks to beat Syracuse. Another example was back in 1978 for Osborne's first defeat of OU, and then the following week the players were spent and Missouri won that game. I was in attendance for that game.

this would be the game.

offense looks good enough to roll up 40 on the illini defense needs a better performance miami did move the ball around when it needed to.

good thing is media not been hyping us up and all the talk had been about ameer. so no reason to think they are top 5 team bc at the end of the day miami wasn't ranked talented but not too 25
