I would tell OV to focus on hockey during the season and worry about his alpaca raising during the offseason. Seriously he missed a practice to go to an alpaca auction?

We talkin' about practice...not a game...practice. It's alpaca people, lets get our priorities in line. Their fur is ridiculously soft.

Practice is not as big of a deal in the NHL as people make it out to be. It is basically maintenance on most days. This is not the NFL.

offseason sessions and skills training is huge

you look at a guy like Kesler who last year in the offseason shot 1000 pucks a day ... constant repetitive releases from different areas on the ice and the result was 41 goals

this year offseason surgery ... couldnt get on the ice ... cant hit the net so far this year

Offseason, yes, but missing one or two practices is not goin to kill you. In season, however, film study and meetings are much more important. Practice is essentially maintinence as I said. A lot of players miss a lot of them if they play big minutes.

I was just wondering what changes should be made. There are obviously problems when they lose to a Sabres team with NINE players out of the line up.

That team has too much talent to be stumbling along they way they are. I am sure if the new coach comes in and keeps things the way they are they will get the same results.

My thoughts on that are earlier in this thread or another on this topic. I think that Boudreau reacted way too strongly to the Montreal lost. They outplayed those guys thoroughly in all 7 games but were beaten by a Jedi in net. I think that the system from last season did NOT get the most out of the guys and did not play to their strengths. You need to unleash some of that scoring.

Caps - Pens on Thursday night.

Both teams usually get the best out of each other. i wonder if Hunter will dress himself to go after Asham :D

LOL. No apparently he'll dress in the suit he's been wearing for years now. Read an article today that for several years he wore the same tan suit until his OHL team won the title and then he let his players tear it apart. He's been wearing the same blue suit for more than four years now for EVERY game he coaches. Here's hoping the Caps get to destroy that thing someday. :)

I'd say that's a fairly accurate analysis. Sometimes it's not the system. Sure, you're going to have to adapt to what other teams throw at you, but completely changing up the system is drastic. The reason the Caps didn't fall off the cliff last season is because they have such talent...talent alone got them to the point they were at, and they need "something else" to get to the next level.
