I totally understand the caution being used on a spread of something that we don't know a ton about yet - but the overall fearmongering is just ridiculous.
94% of all cases thus far are reported with mild symptoms. This won't even include all those people who are asymptomatic (like the one Jazz player, not Gobert). Which probably means of all cases that are truly COVID-19 - i'm going to guess closer to 98% of all cases are mild, maybe even 99%.
6% is critical/Serious - and likely, if they are serious/critical they are seeking attention as it'll be unlikely someone is seriously ill and not get to a Dr. So, this "pandemic" is like the flu overall - but the reaction has been harsh because no one really knew what it was when it hit, and it did hit hard and fast.
In the end - the same measures being taken today are the same that SHOULD be taken for the flu. Wash your hands, limit exposure, take care of yourself - and be mindful of others - especially those who have had serious health issues recently, or have underlying health issues that could cause problems if exposed.
More contagious but not deadlier than the flu.The estimates are that it's 10 times deadlier than the flu and if we don't drastically curtail its spread now it will eventually overwhelm our hospital system when it peaks.

I am not a fan of the mask, but I wear it. If we had to wear helmets to resume activities why wouldn't you? What's ironic to me is that there are a subset of people that simultaneously yell "open the economy" and "I'm not wearing no damn mask."
If everyone slipped a mask on when they went into an indoor public place, less infection would spread, less restrictions would be placed on openings, and the economy would do better.
Go figure.
If you are dying and posting on here there are more serious issues
