If we are being honest about it, DeVonta Smith is going to establish himself as the best WR in the league within the next 3 years.

If I'm a defensive coordinator and I see a team build around Jaelen Reagor and Devonta Smith then I'm putting Safety help against Devonta Smith. Probably have some flashes of Smith being dominant in year 1 then he'll get banged up. Come back year 2 about 25 lbs heavier but the Eagles will be working in a new QB who he has to build rapport with.

Put a safety on Devonta. Meanwhile that will likely leave Goedert matched up alone against the other safety or a linebacker, both smaller than Goedert, only a much slower LB trying to cover Sanders out of the backfield, Fulgham or Ward or Watkins lined up in the slot and Hurts ready to run through the wide open defense if nothing is there.

Eagles offense is going to be fun to watch this season as long as the offensive line can hold up health wise this year. The defense won't be able to stop anyone though with more than one above average WR which is likely most teams in the league. Doesn't really matter though, rebuilding year with the team loaded with draft picks in 2022 and some cap space to actually sign some players.

The size concern mainly is if he is going to beat press coverage at the LOS and if he can't beat that he'll struggle.

Jackson is one of the most overrated wr in the history of the game.

Jackson is easily one of the top 5 greatest deep threats in the history of the game and is in the conversation for the best deep threat of al time.

That said, DeVonta and Jackson are two completely different receivers.

So if Raegor was little Julio and Devonta is going to break Rice’s records. I mean think about that for a second. Do we have to discuss your comments on Wentz before he crashed and burned? Hurts after his first game or two? Ward after a few decent games? Slay when you signed him? DJax when he came back two years ago and then AGAIN before last year after another injury ended season? Don’t you tire of promoting the ridiculous over the top cheerleader comments And looking like a clown? By all means Love your team, be an optimist, even be a little unrealistically irrationally exuberant, but don’t do it to the level that you constantly make a fool of yourself. It’s obvious if you took Waddle instead you’d say the exact same thing :L

Wait what happened to baby julio?

I think he is going to have a good second year. Unfortunately he suffered an injury in the second game that took him out for a good while and then when he came back Wentz was fully blown in his meltdown season from hell. He started to look much better once Hurts game in at the end of the season. DeVonta coming in with his greatness is only going to make things easier for Reagor.

Ill agree with you. Not on smiths greatness. But all other points and if smith is good, it makes everyone better.

Funfact: Dolphins used a first round pick to trade up so they would get Waddle over Smith.

A deep threat, and a complete/good wr are two different things. And yea your are correct they are vastly different

Exactly why the injury concerns are valid. DeVonta needs to operate more in space over the middle to do his thing. Plus he has a crappy QB that may set him up for the kill shot a couple times. I love the kids potential but stop acting like his size is of no concern whatsoever or that the SEC is anything like the NFL

I don't know why you use a "/" to make good inclusive of a complete. You don't need to be Larry Fitzgerald to be good. Randy Moss is the 3rd greatest WR of all time and I would argue he wasn't necessarily a complete WR. He was just so unstoppable if you threw the ball up for him down the field or back of the endzone.

An all time great deep threat absolutely makes DeSean a good WR over the course of his career. His mere presence created a major impact on defenses and this was clear for every team and QB he played for throughout his quality years. You look at Tyreek Hill being the great player he is right now and Tyreek Hill is essentially an evolution of DeSean Jackson who has been nurtured and developed by the same HC who learned form his experience from nurturing and developing DeSean first.

Why are the injury concerns valid? When does size have anything to if a player is going to get injured or not? It is beyond the dumbest fucking narrative I have heard people parrot amongst each other. It makes no logical sense.

The only concern about DeVonta's size is going to be his ability to get off the line and maintaining separation throughout his route so that he is not out manned and thrown off of it during the course of it.

Because when you get hit by a 240lbs LB across the middle you go flying further if you weigh 165 than if you weigh 200. You also have less mass to absorb the hit. It’s just common sense. To help you out to with an extreme example picture a 300 lbs guy running full speed and hitting a guy who weighs 350 and a guy that weighs 125.which of the two is more likely to be hurt?

his presence did create an impact. I see what you are saying. We have had this convo before. Tyreek hill is consistent. Djax disappeared 66% of the year, I cant get behind a guy like that. But man, when he blew up, he blew up
