what are people being negative about ? he's not bad mouthing anyone, just giving a view about larger contracts. When I stays for less money he is in fact helping a team owner out no matter if the player wants a championship or not. And what some of you don't know is he was interviewed in a movie about whether college players should get paid. He talked about calling the coach saying the guys had no money and they were hungry one night so the coach goes and buys a couple bags of tacos and brings it to them in his expensive car. Foster just gave his opinion that that was fishy to him when the team generates the money for that to happen ( aside from that being a possible violation LOL ) whether you disagree is fine but he is simply giving his view of free enterprise and his place in it

Well I would like to point out the very end of that tweet "early in your career" which to me means testing the free agent market to get the most you can when your rookie contract is up even if it means leaving a winning team. If you really think about it if your a 21 year old rookie unless your drafted in the 1st round your not making much money by NFL standards so at 21 your making a couple hundred thousand. when your rookie contract is up you should be about 25-26 years old THIS is really your only shot at making a ton of money which is like a 5-6 year deal because once you hit that 30+ age mark unless you were an all pro like jared allen (and even he had issues getting a good contract) your not going to get another 5-6 year deal its going to be 1-2 year maybe 3 depending on your position. but realistically your on your way out of the league...

in fosters case RBs when they hit 30 they are DONE i dont believe there are any starting RBs in the league anymore except for maybe Frank Gore and he is on his way out. Adrian Peterson will be the only one once he hits 30 next season but players like him are once in a decade.

I never blame players for going out and getting the best contract that they can. They have a very short window to try and set themselves and their families up for life. Most of these guys have maybe 5 years to do that and to me taking care of my family means a heck of a lot more than winning a Super Bowl.


As for Arian Foster's tweet here he has always been a weird dude that is not afraid to say what is on his mind. I have no clue why he would tweet something like this but it doesn't surprise me.

I agree, but I'm not sure it was sympathy he was drumming up; more like acceptance of his justification of putting money first.

And like you said: nothing wrong with that. But the guy just makes himself look worse by talking about it. Why draw attention to yourself? The one thing Colin Kaepernick did right this offseason (unlike whiney little dork Drew Brees) was say, "I'm just gonna let my agent handle that side of things," and that's all he said about it. Foster should take notes.

If you had that money it's possible that would feel differently than you do know about it. You're a Seahawks fan, so you're obviously a very smart guy, and I think that most smart people would look at it as a nest egg and an income generator rather than a lump sum of money.
