We'd have some darn good match-ups.

#1-8: Vancouver vs. Chicago------Philly vs. Buffalo
The West match-up here would be EPIC. I think most Nucks fans would agree, they'd love to clown stomp the Hawks after the past few postseasons. The East match-up would be interesting, with it probably coming down to goal-tending.
#2-7: Detroit vs. Anaheim-------Washington vs. New York Rangers
Both of these would be awesome as well. If there's a match-up that would favor the Ducks, it'd be this. That's not a knock on the Wings, but a testament to their injury situation. That all changes if Howard can heal quickly.
#3-6 San Jose vs. Nashville-------Boston vs. Montreal
In the West this would be another great match-up. San Jose is a perennial choker with a better goalie this year, and Nashville is well overdue for some postseason success, along with being perhaps the hottest team in the league right now. The East...well, it's self explanatory, although Montreal is really struggling now.
#4-5 Phoenix vs. Los Angeles-------Pittsburgh vs. Tampa Bay
The West match-up is a division rival one, but with Phoenix being very streaky and LA now being very...injured, it'd be a tight series. The East match-up is...kinda lackluster unless Sid returns and it becomes Crosby v. Stamkos. As a Pens fan I'd welcome it, because Tampa has been up and down all year.

It's so crazy this year. I think we can say with certainty that Vancouver is the #1 seed out West and that Tampa Bay is going to be in the #4/#5 game in the East. Other than that, I think every team could change position (and some significantly) from where they are now.

I know I'm rooting for the Pens on Tuesday. Pens/Caps win and we've got a 3-way 100-point tie.

Also, I do think the 8 teams in playoff position now are the 8 teams we'll see in the playoffs, but we'll see. Gonna be a crazy two weeks with matchups changing daily.

I think the East has the top 8 locked in...but not in the right spots. Although if they ended where they are now, I wouldn't be surprised...or upset. Sure, getting a high seed would be cool and all, but I really like the Pens to match up with Tampa. Dunno why, because St. Louis KILLS us, but I don't see them as a huge threat in the post season. A three way tie up top would be insane though. If the Pens beat Philly tomorrow, we actually have a legitimate shot to win the division though. Crazy.

Maybe b/c Tampa has played pretty bad hockey for a month. I don't care who we play first as long as it's not the Rangers, and since the Rangers and the Caps are both trending upwards, it seems like less of a possibility right now.

This would be especially weird since (if memory serves) a Crosby and Malkin led team has never won the division.

This will bring up the old "Crosby is not even the MVP of his team" talk at the Swamp. Except instead of Malkin, trolls will now reference Tyler Kennedy. ;)

That game tomorrow will be incredible. Easily the biggest game of the year for Pittsburgh. Time to blow the roof off CEC!!

And I agree pix, I want the Tampa Bay #4 v #5 matchup more than any other. don't want to see the Habs in the first round for obvious reasons

Look out for those sneaky Sabres. Since the new owner there is a new attitude. They are getting balanced scoring and Stafford and TV are heating up. Not too mention contributions from Ennis and Gerbe. Boyes has been a nice addition.

The defense is young and prone to mistakes but I thing Lindy will have them play back more should they make the playoffs.

If Miller continues his hot play this team will not be an easy out.

They are not a SC team but don't take them lightly. Also their record shows they obviously don't mind playing on the road.

Home 18 - 16 - 4

Road 20 - 12- 5

Not being a homer JMHO.

Howard is day to day and planning on being back in the lineup Wednesday. Datsyuk is also scheduled to be back later this week, and Johan Franzen returns tonight.

You never know, just as long as they make it. Very cool to see the Sabres making a run after their poor start. Assuming the Sabres do make the playoffs, I think they'll be pretty motivated after bowing out in the first round last season. A good darkhorse candidate for sure.
