There are 40 hotels booked FULL, in and around Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, Mi (about an hour to an hour and 20 minutes southwest of East Lansing).

There are 15 hotels with limited availability. Some down to one room remaining. Many of those are $50/night econo-lodge type stuff.

I can only figure it's the Sea of Red, because Michigan is playing @ Rutgers on Saturday.

I hope it's Husker fans.

However, Lincoln books all of its hotel rooms full for every Husker game, and we all know those ain't fans from the opposing team.

So me point is, 40 of those hotels may have a bunch of MSU folks in them who traveled in from a couple hours away and don't want to drive home at midnight.

I had a few military buddies that got stationed at radar bases out on the tip of the thumb straight out of tech school. I felt sorry for them. There is nothing out there. Little copper mining towns.

That's not including hotels in East Lansing, and outskirts like Ionia, Howell, Jackson, Albion, Hastings, Flint, Greenville, Diamondale, Charlotte, Okemos, Dewitt, Holt, Portland, Owosso, Mason, Fowlerville, Durand, Chesaning, Marshall.

Basically there are 77 hotels within 30-40 minutes of East Lansing.

That's not counting Battle Creek or Kalamazoo.
