They played an A+ game at Chicago and they are 5th or so in points defensively.

We all know they probably have the 2nd best offense besides Denver. If the defense plays this well, it will be almost impossible to beat them, especially at home in the playoffs.

Chicago actually played a good game today and they got steamrolled. And I am a Bears fan, lol.

The saints play at Seattle on Monday night football Dec 2nd. The road to HFA goes right through the 12th man. We will see.

I said "IF". What I said was a good observation.

If I said that New Orleans defense was awesome and because of that they would for sure win the superbowl, that would be a reactionary overstatement.

You act like the Seahawks already clinched the west. They're one game up on SF and still must visit SF.

Or did I simply say the road goes through Seattle? Playing and winning in Seattle is quite tough no matter who you are. Even if SF passes us up the Saints are still going to have to prove they deserve HFA by beating Seattle in their house. I believe SF gets them on the road but I could be wrong.

It's simply amazing how many of you have to try and put words in others mouths or entirely change the meaning of a post to try and make some point that wasn't there. Not surprising, but amazing that you all keep on trying it anyway.

Seattle play them in San Fran. The road only goes through Seattle if they win division and finish with the best record in the NFC. It is very possible that neither happen and Seattle would be forced to win 3 road games to make the super bowl.

:wtf:

We were talking about the Saints and their scheduled road game vs Seattle on Monday night football on Dec 2nd and what implications that might have on their road to HFA in the playoffs. So what the fuck does anything you said above have to do with that?

Again, I do question your football IQ man. Really not trying to pick on you, but you seem a step behind often.

It may not have any implications on HFA in the playoffs. For all we know the Saints may be 2 games up or behind Seattle which pretty much makes that game meaningless at that point of the season

All losses matter when looking at HFA. You do know how that works right? Even if it isn't a NFC West team giving them chase, a loss there could give it to say Chicago? :noidea:

It's a late season road game against a team that doesn't lose at home that may still be in the hunt themselves, or at least has ties to the other NFC west teams who also should be in it.

Why do I even try and explain this stuff?

We will revisit this in December when it may make more sense to you.

I think what he is saying is that even if they loss that game it could have no impact on who wins Home Field. Also since the OP was stating that if the Saints D keeps playing this good they will win the NFC his statement in also correct in the fact that the only way it goes though Seattle is if they have the best record which is impossible to tell.

I got what he was saying. I stand by my opinions that the road to HFA very much could/should be impacted by that MNF game. ALL losses matter. Could they be like 3 games up on everyone else? Well it's possible, but given the schedules left for all involved I really doubt it. I think it is highly likely the winner of the Seattle @ SF game will be maybe a 3-4 loss team at most. Wouldn't be surprised to see both teams win out the next full month leading up to that MNF game.

Realistically yes that game will probably have huge effects, But NO with their division could run the table NE, SF, Seattle are the only games where they might get a loss. We will see but I agree with the previous poster its certainly too early in the season to say that home field goes though Seattle. and certainly way to early to say that the road to the NFC Championship goes though Seattle.
