Would the Rams think about taking another package deal? What if the Eagles offered the 20th pick, their 2nd, 4th RD picks and Foles. Do you do it? The Eagles have two 4th rd picks btw.

Seems to me that Mariota is the type of QB who is most valuable in an offense that is designed to take advantage of his mobility. Unless Fisher is prepared to implement such an offense, then I think that the Rams would be better off with the additional picks.

I agree.

If they offered that, I would take it. Mariota is a solid prospect, but will take some time to adapt to the NFL IMO. Trading down to 20 and getting a 2nd, 4th AND Foles is a nice haul and sets up the Rams for life beyond Bradford.

I like the idea of Foles in a Rams uniform but I would sure hate to see the Rams hand the Eaglets a championship because that's what the Rams would be doing by trading Mariota to them.

I'm not sold on their style ever amounting to anything in the postseason. Their defense is not good enough.

Scoring as quickly as they do, puts a lot of pressure on the defense.

I would take that trade in a heartbeat. It gives a very good backup QB if Bradford goes down and still lets us draft a QB in the upcoming draft, fill a couple of glaring holes with our Oline and LB corps. I doubt he falls that far tho with all of the QB help that is needed with the bottom 10 teams. I personally think he will go before Winston.

He isn't going to fall to us. So I am not even going to comment.

I do not think he will fall to us either, mostly because I think the Eagles will make a deal with the Jets if he falls to 6 first. But if he did, I would make that deal in a hot minute.

I would absolutely take that deal. Some good talent can still be had around the 20th pick.

But realistically, that would likely never happen since I seriously doubt that Mariota falls past the Jets at 6.

Two thoughts:

#1 Fisher won with McNair so I believe he could win with Mariota.

#2 I don't see the Eagles winning a championship in that system no matter who their QB is. Elite defenses will suppress it and if its not successful it leads to quick punts, that's going to kill their defense. Also all that open space opens guys up to big hits, NFL players hit harder than college guys so health may be an issue. Lastly, I doubt that offense goes great in nasty cold weather.

I think if the Rams haven't figured out which QB is legitimately challenging Bradford at that point then Mariota would be a slam dunk pick at 10.

1. McNair =/= Mariota kid hasn't even taken a snap yet, lets not make comparisons

2. I also didn't see the rams winning with a Qb that bagged groceries for a living. Stranger things have happened.

1. I meant this in terms of the mobile QB thing. Not comparing quality of player.

2. Fair point, I'm just not sold.

So, now that the Eagles are trading McCoy to the Bills for Kiko Alonso, are they more likely to trade up for Mariota? Chip Kelly seems to want all Ducks in Philly, getting his Ducks in a row...:dhd:
