To be technical, including what the Cubbies paid to his Japanese team, it was a 5/95, not a 5/100. So he was paid almost the most possible for an 8 figure deal, not the minimum for a 9 figure deal…

I see an .880 OPS for him, as of this morning.
And it was closer to 1.503 when MSG started this thread (according to BBRef).

Yesterday’s game dropped his ops.

As for his ops when msg posted, I misread his slash. I looked at it quickly and thought he was giving a slash of OBP/slug/ops. The posted slash was avg/OBP/slug instead.


Who pays attention to avg nowadays? Come on, now, grandpa…

IIRC, it was some kind of celebration article about how Suzuki was playing so well. He has not played so hot since the article was published.
