did it one time, so drunk by the time the fish started biting couldn't keep both poles in the water pretty incredible trip though.

Fish were a bit smaller though.

I did it once, sober. Lasted about 15 minutes.....being a native San Diegan, I do not find any use in ice fishing. You want fish in the winter? Go to the store.

Actually, it was in Minnesota, somewhere outside of Minneapolis. I went with my girlfriend for Christmas and told her ahead of time I was not going to go ice fishing with her dad and brothers. She said they would think I was a "California pussy" (her exact words) if I didn't go. I replied that at least I'd be a warm California pussy. I finally gave in, but her dad and brothers were very cool about the whole thing. They laughed and said I lasted about 10 minutes longer than they thought I would.

Most of the big ice fisherman in MN won't sit out on the ice, they'll be inside their homes. And there's nothing wrong with that..

What's so cool about ice fishing is that a tip-up flag might mean you've hooked a 10 inch perch or it might be a 40inch pike! Each one you tend is like a scratch off lottery ticket. The key is a warm shelter, quality clothing, great food, alcohol and good friends.
