the Flames were 6-3...Now they're 7-10. It's time for the Jolly Rancher to ride off into the sunset (might as well take his brother as well).

Just really tired of Sutter hockey.

Well you do have one less Sutter to worry about.

I agree. Out of the Western Conference teams, the Flames are one of the very few teams I really want to see do well.

lol...That's true, Boss, maybe yesterday was the beginning of the Sutter trimmings.

That might not be too far from the truth Dash. Think of what young Sutter would have had to deal with in Calgary if Darryl and Brent were sent off unceremoniously by the pitchfork carriers.....especially what he'd hear about his cabbie incident as well. Maybe they were trying to protect him before they get the axe?

I think you're right on the money, filo, he gets a chance now to play with a family member in Carolina and see if he can become a regular NHL player. It's really a shame that Darryl Sutter wasn't let go in May of this year, though, this just delays the much needed re-build of the team.

It really makes you wonder at times, matt...This team is just mentally weak, they actually played a pretty good first period last night, but Bryz shut the door, and then Wolski scored a weaksauce goal from an impossible angle and the whole team just deflated. How do you just give up on a game down 1-0 midway through the second period?

im not surprised at that for guys like stajan, jokien, hagman, Bouwmeester etc.. guys who came from weak teams or have had pretty sub standard careers (Jokien) but guys like Regehr, Iginla, Kipper etc have been rock solid for years and its not usual to see that kind of drop in mental strength for them which makes me wonder if that is what is happening. Sutter has lost the room (well he is very close to it for sure)

I don't remember who the player was a few years ago when asked "What Sutter do you like the least?" His response was "their mother for having them" I always thought that was a great line.

Was Feaster hired to to assess the situation & then take the GM job from Darryl? How do Flames fans feel about Darryl making all the trades if they decide to rebuild?

I think the majority of Flames fans do not want Darryl Sutter to orchestrate the rebuild (and quite a few of them are quite vocal that they don't care for Jay Feaster either).

Some have suggested Bob Nicholson (Hockey Canada director) as a possible GM replacement.

The Flames should ask the Wings if they can speak to Jim Nill.

Didn't he recently sign a long extension to remain in Detroit? Besides, I think he likes playing Riker to Ken Holland Picard.

Yeah he signed an extension but if he were to be given a higher ranking position the extension wouldn't matter.

Good things have been said about Ron Hextall who's the Assistant GM in LA.

The Flames play the Hawks Friday night before embarking on a five game East Coast road swing. The next six games could ultimately determine the fate of both Darryl and Brent Sutter.

theyd probably just stick with Feaster, no? bring in MacT? Could you see Pat Quinn offered a shot? older players are his forte but then there goes the rebuild

They'll probably just stick with Feaster, although maybe if they brought in MacT, he could patch things up with Harvey the Hound. Always have liked Pat Quinn.

How should they go about a rebuild? I know Iginla would be traded. After that I imagine they'd try to trade Kipper. Washington would make sense. They have three young goalies. They could certainly include 1 of them but the Flames would probably have to take back somebody like Fleishcman back as part of the deal because of salary issues for both teams.

After that I really don't know who they can trade. Who would want Jokinen?

Would Jaybo be the player the Flames build around?
