I think Iowa fans are repeatedly in denial of the fact that they aren't very good. This team went 8-5 last year and lost all of their best players. Iowa should hope they get the win over Purdue, because the reality is they're probably not going to win any other games. I do think of the other three games, this is their best shot, but it's still a longshot.
Who said Iowa was really good this year? We talked about how Iowa had a shot at winning 8-9 games if all goes well this year. Iowa doesn't have to worry about Wisconsin, Illinois, or Ohio State. And all hasn't gone well this year.
I also agree that this is the best shot for Iowa to win among Mich, MSU, and Nebraska.
In the offseason, a lot of the Iowa fans were basically saying "we do really good when the media says we are going to be bad. Plus, we have an easy schedule. Iowa is going to win 9-10 games and the division." As recently as last week, there were still some Iowa fans (both on the boards and in real life) that were telling me they thought they'd win the division. The reality is that this is Ferentz's weakest team in a while, and you will be lucky to go 7-6.
I'd be ok with seeing another perennial overrated team lose. Go Hawkeyes?
There are 0 really good B10 teams this year with the exception of Wisconsin ( IMO ) and the Badgers have not proved able to win close games. There is no reason Iowa cant beat Michigan and MSu at home, Purdue on the road and then it all comes down to a road game at Nebraska. That doesnt mean Iowa is great, it just means the B10 isnt very good this year.
cmon, sir
don't deny it, you know Iowa's going to beat Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska but lose to Purdue.
