We saw things Saturday that can't be fixed in one week or even one season.

I hope to hell I'm wrong, but if I'm right KSU will beat us next Thursday night.

By the way, where's Zac Lee?

I am one of the most pessimistic people on here and I don't think thats true. What specifically are your seeing? I agree we have issues but KSU is not a great team. I don't think KSU is much better than Washington.

Our offensive line is very inconsistent, our play calling stinks, our defense leaks like a sieve, and that's against bad to mediocre competition. Our QB play is inconsistent partly due to an offensive line that should be playing better by now.

What scares me is we have much better opponents coming up. I'm afraid we're in big trouble.

I hope I'm wrong, that's all I've got to say.... For now.

My parting shot... I don't mean to be negative, but I just want to be realistic about our team's prospects the rest of the year.

Just a down day. I remember in the past the Huskers had a few years where they played down to the competition and one week they would look terrible but the next they would look like world beaters.

I agree, look at ISU and AZ last year, those were 2 very different teams that showed up.

I would like to state that I consider myself a true realist when it comes to football too. I very seldom buy into hype.

Wait, wait Zac Lee? You want to give up a slightly green quarterback that has big play potential and may make a few rookie mistakes for a guy that couldn't score at the bunny ranch.

That powerhouse South Dakota St. sure shut down that big play potential.

Seriously though, if our offensive line was blocking like they should be then Martinez would've looked better last Saturday.

He had 77 yds rushing. How many qbs do you know that have those kind of stats?

I've seen down days, but Saturday's game was way more than that. We've got some problems.

I I can't remember any of our great QBs early. But he seems to have some of the intangibles you need to be great. Always seems to be calm. I think he needs to work on his timing and internal clock and he could be great.

Hey look guys, I don't mean to be negative, I'm just being realistic about our team. Over the years I've seen these same traits from NU teams that ended up just being average.

He'll improve and he'll look really good down the road with better blocking, that is of course if we ever see better and more consistent blocking with the offensive line coach that we have now.

Thanks. I've been a Husker fan since about 1968, fortunately most of those years have been good to great.

Give em a little more time. The hardest part about being a good line is chemistry. You have to understand how you act and how the guy next to you acts. They will get there.
