Let's say the season ends and the lockout continues. How are contracts done? Say a guys into the last year of a deal, does the year count? Do all the contracts signed at the beginning of the year still count? if there's half a season, does a guys contract still count for the whole year, or am I confusing year with season? If there is no season, can free agents become free agents again?:rain: So confusing...

How have you been SF? Good question and I'm not sure. Somebody here will probably know.

i believe

if we start now and get 62 games

alex burrows is in last year of current deal and his NEW deal will start next year. but this last year will be based off the 62 games for example he makes $2M per season so for 82 games thats 24390.02 per game. so his salary would be 62*24390.02 = $1,512,180 for this season

Ok but do you know how free agency will work if there's no season? Are the contracts they signed still valid or can they test the market again?

I think it depends on what is worked out in the new CBA, whenever that happens.

Last time around I believe a year of contracts was burned in the lost season. I can't see the owners who don't want to really honour the existing contracts just bumping a year back. I can't really see the players liking that too much either.

I agree and you make very good sense. I'm curious more about players like webber and can they be on the market again. I want to say yes but not sure how their contracts are written.

as I understand the year is counted but not paid. everyone would lose a year on the contract and also the team would lose that year of that players commitment

I think if the season is lost all players lose a year of their contracts. So if a player is in the final year of his deal he will become an UFA.

These are correct with one exception. Signing bonuses for this year must be paid regardless of whether games are played or not. In other words, fuck off, Nashville.

Good thing those contracts aren't incentive based. Lol. I was holding out hope on the free agency thing. Oh well

We object to the phrase "fuck off Nashville" when you could have used "get lost Nashville".

We also object to the phrase "urine soaked hell hole" when you could have said "pee pee soaked heck hole."
