Holy hell… there is no way that we're not on pace to SHATTER the record for 1st inning runs allowed, or at least the record for most times allowing a run in the first inning. I do not have the energy to dig through all 43 box scores to see exactly how many times it has occurred, but is it just me?… Or is it the VAST majority of time? I'd bet it happens 70 to 80% of the time. It's honestly amazing. I usually can't turn on the game until the 2nd or 3rd inning, but I get White Sox text updates. EVERY NIGHT around 7:30 I get my usual text that the White Sox trail in the first.
I was able to look up where we stand on 1st inning runs allowed, and we are indeed dead last. We AVERAGE 0.95 runs allowed in the 1st inning. That's ASTOUNDING. In all seriousness, I'm so disgusted after this Robertson blown save that I'm not even upset about. I'm actually impressed. Let's go blow this record to pieces!
It's not just one pitcher, it's the ENTIRE rotation. Samardzija and Sale have been the worst, but it's every damn night. We're spotting the opponent an average of one run on a nightly basis! It's amazing we're only five games under .500. This team has looked like a total nightmare outside of a one week stretch.
