Stance: Goofy
Dear fuck-tard,
Look around you at the hockey that is going on. Are you capable of learning from what we're seeing?
Florida:
You see that guy behind the bench. You probably recognize him. You interviewed him. You see what having a coach the players are willing to to bat for can do? The Panthers have NO BUSINESS beating the Devils. They don't have the names, the firepower or the experience. What they do have is a coach the players will gut themselves for.
Note: Don't fire Richards, and if you do - DON'T bring in MacDumbass.
New York Rangers:
Top Seed. All the big free agents and big names. And getting pretty heartily manhandled by a smaller, younger and "rebuilding" team. Grabbing a big name gets you press, and it gets you regular season success and lots of highlights. And then after that...
Note: Stay out of the Free Agent Market. Carter, Foote, Federov. Names don't always work. Stop it.
Ottawa Senators
Left for dead and with a General Manager arguably worse than you are, they were rebuilding and kept key pieces. Picked up components here and there and look at 'em. Didn't have to lose Spezza or Alfredsson or Phillips to "rebuild". They rebuilt around them. And look a little closer at the centerpiece of the feeling up there. The Cap'n. Don't think of past problems or get into semantic arguments about his worthiness as a prototypical "Captain". Look at how those fans feel about him. They WORSHIP him. He has stood by the city, and you can almost SEE the energy those fans pour out for the guy, and the players respond for those fans.
Note: Letting Nash go will be the biggest mistake ever made by a professional team in, like, ever.
St Louis:
A slow start, and a coach that came in and connected with the vocal guys in that room. Maybe you recognize that coach too. Yeah, he's a hardass. Yes, he's abrasive. And yes, he hurts the feelings of young fragile guys. But the team has guys like Arnott, Crombeen, Oshie, Langenbrunner, MacDonald and Backes. All heart and soul guys. And they believe in the coach. I know, Hitch didn't go over well last time. But that was before YOU had Wisniewski, Nikitin, Prospal, Letestu and Johnson. Oh, and remember the "prima-donna" Russell you lamented so? Looks like Hitch reached him too.
Note: Stop looking elsewhere, sometimes the answer is sitting in an office down the hall reading a book on Appomattox.
