The Andrew Miller injury hurt. Not that he had pinpoint control either (5.0 BB/9 this year, career 5.3 BB/9), but he had a pretty sexy strikeout rate (14.1).

I know you're going to have to use him in the 10th if they get there, but with the bases loaded and 2 out, I think you have to bring in Koji. Farrell doesn't like to bring him in mid inning, but still.


And Tazawa should be banned from pitching in situations where the sox have a 1 run lead. 2 runs or more fine, but not one run.

TB/Boston tied (one = division leader, the other has the first WC)
Oakland (2nd WC)
Cleveland 3.5 back
Baltimore 4 back
Yankees 5 back
Royals 6.5 back

Nothing I hate worse that mis-directed anger. This was one of 3 games that I had a starter throw a good game, only for either their team not to hit, or, to have a reliever blow the lead and game.

No. He's numbers are good, but it seems he's got a knack for giving up a run in one run lead situations. They need a set up guy for the 8th and let Tazawa do +2 run work in the 7th.
