Tz...

Has a team that has gotten off to this bad a start ever won the series?
I hope TZ doesn't mind me taking a crack at this.

I went back to 79, and yes two teams have won a WS with this bad a start, meaning the first 11 games.

'91 twins won 2 of their first 11 games, and the '02 angels won three.

There is *always* a chance. There are 162 games, dudes (and dudettes). Seriously, stop freaking out.

That's just it, I'm not freaking out, in fact other than Nolan on the general MLB board I don't think any of the SportsHoopla crowd is. This year just doesn't matter. They suck ass right now. Maybe they will all year, maybe they will turn it around. I'm quite fine with either of those. Lots of baseball left, maybe they get healthy and compete. Maybe Cain comes back solid and Heston stays solid and Peavy and Vogey don't matter and Belt starts hitting and Pence is good, etc. Or maybe they really will suck. It's all good.

That is how I feel. Won the World Series last year. Tough to repeat. Maybe more than a one year downturn. We could see a youth infusion in the starting pitching staff. Will be a make or break year for some players like Belt.

The Giants just tied their worst SF starting record (i.e., since the team moved to SF). That year was 2000. The same year they ended with the best record in all of MLB. They haven't even played 10% of the games yet.

Sure, like I said there is still plenty of time to turn it around, and they will surely wait to get healthy before they 'decide' how they will go with it. I'm just saying it's not bothering me one bit. If they turn it around, awesome. If not,

I agree a lot of games left. Don't remember what that team looked like so I can't compare the two teams. My concern with this team starts with the starting pitching staff. Are the old guys going to hit the wall? Can Lincecum finally turn it around? Does Bum have a tired arm from all the pitching last year? Those sorts of things.

The injury bug sure is not giving any mercy... The biggest concern, does seem to be the pitching staff at this point. Still trying to be optimistic at this early point in the season.

I count on Marco for these factoids. Keep calm and love Buster.

I'm looking for solid SP every game. The games we get that, I'm pleased...win or lose.

When we don't, I fill my diapers.

Yes, this season looks to be one where stocking up on these in large quantities could save a lot of money :
