A couple of years ago, the press was interviewing Howard after a win in the Detroit locker room. Gordie Howe walked by, saw Howard there, went over to him and congratulated him on a fine win and walked on. Jimmy Howard sat there looking completely dumbfounded for a moment, then said "That was Gordie Howe!"
