I think KC would have lost to the ravens...and would/will lose to Indy

I dunno the Ravens are not a good team right now, maybe the Colts Luck is turning into a damn good QB.

Don't these two teams play each other 2 times in the next 4 weeks? With one week in between games, this will be the test, if the Chiefs can't pressure Peyton they will lose. I want to see what happens to Manning in bad weather in the playoffs. Both teams are going to the playoffs short of a compete melt down

The stats dont lie...Moreno actually has better RB numbers overall than Charles does at the moment...I dont care how much you would love to believe Charles is some world beater...Moreno has more 20+ runs, less fumbles, and more TD's, and the same ypc...call it whatever you want

Stats do lie in foolish hands.

You don't think the same YPC while being the only offensive threat as a guy with easily the best WR corps in the NFL and an elite QB at the helm opening up the defenses shows the guy carrying his team much, much more favorably?

If this KC team got Baltimore for the opener at home on prime time I would take KC. Manning was great in that game, but Baltimore looked pretty out of sorts.

I'm not talking impact to their teams..I'm simply talking production....based on PRODUCTION ( what has ACTUALLY been achieved) alone, Knowshon is surpassing Charles at this point in the season.

So are you implying Denver has had a tougher schedule? Not sure about that.

Yes. Although their schedules have been similar, Denver's has been slightly tougher. Denver had to play in Dallas, Chiefs got the Cowboys at home. Denver played Baltimore, Chiefs played the Browns. Denver had to play in Indy, Chiefs had the Texans at home. Probably the Chiefs toughest road game was at Tennessee, and the Titans were playing with their second string qb.

I realize that a lot of this will even out out over the course of the season, but just with the inclusion of the Colts alone, Denver has played a more difficult schedule to this point than the Chiefs have.

From a pure production view, Charles has over 1000 yards and knowshon has less than 750.

No, it wasn't. It was about who is a better running back and it's not close.

Production wise I guess it depends on what you value comparing Charles to Moreno. At this point Moreno has more touchdowns and I would say is the better blocker of the two. Charles obviously has the yards. On a pure talent stand I don't know many that would ever take Moreno over Charles as Charles is a special talent. I would also say though in comparing the two they have very different skill sets. Charles is a speedster with some wiggle where Moreno is a ground and pound type. So again even looking at the YPC it is hard to judge.

Now about the argument about the Broncos and Chiefs all of this will be sorted out over the next month. The Chiefs deserve all the respect for being undefeated no matter who they have had to play or what quarterback is in the lineup. It is tough to win in this league no matter who you play unless it is the Jaguars. Throw in we are at week 8 right now and a whole host of things can happen between now and the playoffs so we have no idea where these two teams or any team for that matter will be at. Heck two weeks ago many had thought the Giants were completely out of the playoff picture and now they are only two games out of first in the NFC East. All I have to say about the Bronco/Chiefs games coming up is it will be fun to see possibly one of the greatest offenses in NFL history go up against what is looking like one of the best defenses at least through 8 weeks since possibly the 00' Ravens.

One of the things I hate about player comparisons is that so often people try to prove one player is better than another based on stats. Stats are one measuring stick for players, they are not the be all end all. Touchdowns are fluky, yards are a reflection of the offensive line. When I compare players I like to watch them play and decide who was more impressive. For example, I have been watching the Seahawks for years. I have no idea about the stats, but when I watch Lynch play he is more impressive to me than Julius Jones was(I know, easy call). Moreno and Charles are both good players. I don't watch a lot of their games, but when I have watched I find Charles to be the more impressive runner. And I can't really explain why, I just think he has something that Moreno doesn't. Maybe it's a better ability to make people miss.

I absolutely agree as well, but he brought up that the numbers back him up when they don't.

Numbers only tell part of the truth to those who truly understand them. To the rest they distract.

Obviously none of you even understand what the (moreno/charles)conversation is really about.. and no one is trying to say that Knowshon Moreno is > Jamaal Charles.

You implied Moreno is a comparable runner to Charles in any way.

well if you want to lower it to the lowest common denominator, which you always do...... so far THIS season...as a RUNNER....Moreno HAS been more successful than Charles has been, based purely on their production as a RB, in the respect that he has identical ypc, less fumbles, and more TD's....simple as that. I dont care how you want to spin it those are absolute facts....but again, this was not specifically what the conversation started out to be about.

Of course I want the Hawks to get to the SBOWL but the most hyped game at this point would be the 49ers vs. the Hawks NFC Championship. That would be ridiculous. Those two teams have developed a pretty crazy rivalry.

The comparison as a runner is laughable. If the Broncos solely handed the ball off to him they would get 8 yards a carry with Charles.
