After Sparty won the Big 10 championship, I thought they would be the 4th #1 seed.

Not only did they not get the 4th #1 seed, I believe the NCAA randomly swapped the 2 seeds so that Villanova would not end up in Philly with UNC. So, Sparty ended up matched up with the strongest #15 seed and by a large margin.

2016 Seeding - Crashing the Dance

MTSU's RPI was 78, which is closer to teams like Hawaii (a 13 seed), Iona (also a 13). The four 16 seeds have RPIs of 155, 209, 186, and 249.

No excuse for Sparty to lose to a team that's closer to a 13 anyway, but they'd clearly be still playing if the seeding were proper.

Ratings didn't matter in that game today. They could have been RPI rated in 4 digits, they could have been a 30th seed. Hit that many shots and you can win any game.

If we are retroactively rearranging schedules based on fairness, can I claim last year's title for the Badgers? We were the 2nd best team and we beat #1 and #3. We never should have had to play #4.

Seems like something that would be right in your wheelhouse.

MTSU should have been a 14 and Green Bay should have been a 15.

the reason Michigan State was in the bracket they were is I heard Tom Izzo had scheduling conflicts with the filming of 'Better Call Saul'.

If you're expected by many to win the whole thing, it doesn't matter how strong the 15 seed is, you've got to make it to the second weekend.

The only screw job is what MSU did to my bracket.

People don't really realize how much of the tournament is randomness and a high seed catching a hot team on the wrong night.

But there's a huge difference between the best 15 seed and a 16 seed.

You need 4 wins to get to the final 4. Those 4 wins are a combination of skill and luck. As a #1 seed, you essentially get a bye. I think no matter how hot those teams are, they cannot beat a 1.

Whoever ends up winning the championship, MTSU could have beat them tonight.

So Sparty got beat by the tallest midget?

If MTSU makes it to the final four, I'll agree with you.

Izzo got out coached today. Plain and simple.

Costello should have attempted twice the amount of shots. And Sparty prolly shoulda stayed in the huddle while they were fixing the net.

It's funny people dismiss this thread but there is less of a difference between MTSU and MSU in RPI than there is MTSU and the BEST 16 seed. Lol
