How quickly things change

What if, 3 years ago, a time traveler came to NBA fans and told them:

1) Golden State would soon have the best single season record of all time, and 2) A team with Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love would be given almost no shot to win the NBA Finals and them actually winning it might be the biggest upset in NBA history. How quickly would that guy have been laughed out of the room?

Something else that comes to mind: The reason the Cavs traded for Love is to win the Championship. While Love didn't have the stats Wiggins had, and some think he slightly underwhelmed compared to his Wolves days, would the Cavs still have won with Wiggins instead? Was Love's complimentary 3rd Man status a key to having the season they had?

I think we'd be so consumed with the idea of time travel, i.e. how does it work? How can we do it? Can we go to both the future and the past? That none of this NBA stuff would matter.
