i dont see spikes getting a 600% raise shark and you act like i got to go and get 2 expensive ilbs i dont . i think dane fletcher can do everything riley does and he can be had for about 3 mil spikes maybe 4 and of course we do have a draft pick

and besides haslett sgould be able to coach him up despite his mediocre coaching career numbers

but as i have sais like 4 times now i think we get riley at our price

For $3 million a year, the Patriots would likely hold onto Spikes. I dont think we get a starting ILB for any less than $5 million a year. And I think the more desperate a team is, the higher that price goes up. I think many people are crazy if they are saying well we get Riley for the lowball or we let him walk. And a free agent and a rookie are a bad combination in the middle of your defense.

Shark.....I am seeing that lately we are thinking alot alike....You are a wise man I see..Not wise with your assessment of RGIII...but let's not go there........

Riley is definetly worht more then 3 mil a year....He did lead our team in tackles last year and was very close the year before.....and I agree that any decent ILB is gonna get paid more then 3mil a year....We have been compaining about not taking care of our own....and now we are gonna let a young, better then average player walk for a measly 1-2 mil?? I dont like what that says about our organization....to me it is saying the same ole thing....under value our guys, and go for greener pastures elsewhere, and OVERPAY them.......i want to actually keep the young guys that perform on our team, and as you said earlier, if we need to overpay to keep them in DC...so be it.....rather overpay our own...and lets face it.....he was probably underpaid a little the last couple years...so it would all be evening out!!!!

I dont want 2 new guys in the middle of our LB corps....and I would rather not trust a rookie next to someone else learning the Skins playbook.........

Guys act like ...Oh we get this rookie or that rookie in the draft.....and they can do it.....really? and they have proved they can do it in the NFL how?? by looking good in college? in the combine?

115 tackles. That was 27 in the league. He makes very few big plays and you want to pay him like he's top ten?

exactly I cant see a big market for Riley. 5mil is the max for this guy.

I think brass will view Riley as 3.5-4M however, incentives (lead team in tackles, pro bowl, play all 16 games) he could earn $5M tops.
