VT also probably has a top-5 defense, has won 10 games or more for 8 years in a row, has won the conference like 4 times in the last 8 years, has the active wins leader of any D1 coach in the country, and is known for shitting it up on offense in September but turning it around later in the season. If Miami wants to get Virginia Tech's respect, they need to beat Virginia Tech....something that doesn't happen very often.

GT has been the 2nd best team (or 1st when VT wasn't) in the coastal pretty much every year since ACC expansion.....not Miami. If GT sucks, Miami sucks a whole lot worse.

Uh weren't we discussing rankings? Do you not realize that preseason and early season rankings are directly associated with what you did last year, and how many players you lost from that team? Is that hard for you to understand, or should I slow things down a little for you?

Good team with many returning players from last year = high preseason/early season ranking

Bad team with not many returning players from last year = low preseason/early season ranking.

Team who sucked ass, lost most of their shitty players, and is staring down the barrel of a very big NCAA gun = No ranking.

Beating Boston College, probably the 2nd worst team in the conference, is not going to get it done, considering the losses that Miami has from last year. Beat Va Tech, Florida St, or Clemson, for example, and the voters will take notice.

VT held last year's 18th ranked offense who averaged 458 ypg last year to less than 280yds. This was better than VT did last year and VT finished 12th. By comparison Georgia gave up 250 yds in the first half to last year's 80th ranked offense in Buffalo.

Buffalo sucks.....GT does not.
