How is it called cheating when everyone can see the signs from catcher. How is it called cheating when tv cameras zoom in on the catcher's hands. How is it called cheating when every team has the same signs for pitch type. This shit is just stupid to me. Cheating or stealing signs for me, is the Astros breaking into team's offices and stealing computer files. Just change your pitch signs so that your fastball sign won't be like every team in the damn league.

I do feel that the negative reaction to this scandal is becoming too extreme, but I think this kind of thing is bad for the game. It is to be expected that players do underhanded things to get an edge, but there should be some limits. This wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the use of the cameras and using non-player team employees to participate in the scheme. I think whatever signs a player can steal with his naked eye is basically fair game. But it should be limited to players, and it shouldn't involve just anybody employed by the organization.

Once we get the robot catchers, starting pitchers will just script their first 100 pitches and program them into their catcher so it knows how to react. It will give them something to do on their off days.

This debate is silly. Everybody knows who should be involved in the outcome of an individual game, and that's the guys in uniform in either dugout. They had some douchebag intern or whoever the fuck he was coming up with this scheme and interjecting himself in the action. His punishment should be a 1 year contract and be forced to bat leadoff vs the pitchers he scammed.

Totally agree. That's one of my main points, too. You can't have someone outside of the players directly involved like that. That should help solve the problem, too of gaining an unfair advantage using cameras, unless certain players become the James Bond of baseball.

I don't think the Astros' WS title should be taken away. That wouldn't solve anything, IMO. Players wouldn't care about losing a title. They care about money. I think only fines and suspensions would have a deterrent effect.
