Here is an article that talks about how an EA Sports simulation picked the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup in 2009. Now we all now that didn't happen, and the Pens won the Cup that year, but what is odd is that the simulation said that the Bruins would beat the Blackhawks for the Cup.
Pretty freaky that the two teams the simulation picked to be in the 2009 Final, ended up being the Cup winners in 2010 and 2011.

Boston-based hockey fans will be wicked psyched to learn that their own Boston Bruins will win this year's Stanley Cup, according to EA Sports' simulation of the 2009 NHL playoffs.
Electronic Arts has run the numbers in NHL 09, calling the Bruins to win the cup in six games, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks for their first Stanley Cup win in 37 years. Following the win, Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will be presented with the Stanley Cup by an unidentified, vacant automaton while staring blankly into space, as hammered college students overturn cars in Kenmore Square. Should be a wicked pissa.
