. He says he knows it's not Jay or Bruce. He insinuated that it had to be Scot. T

i think it is Danny boy also ...

Dan really wanted Griffen to work out & was NOT going to authorize big money for Cousins until he proved his worth.

Scot might just be stuck in the middle of this awkward love triangle.

Come on guys... If Kirk had been a top 5 pick and doing the same things most would be ready to assassinate SMGM for even considering not signing him long term. Should he have toned it down just a tad?? Sure. But if he keeps up his current level of play, at what point does our GM and front office come out and say... Not we want Kirk to be here... But We are NOT going to let Kirk out of the building without a long term deal in place.

Lot of soap opera watchers here. Anyone play sports ... especially at a high level? Kid had a hell of game and his competitive juices were flowing. Much ado about nothing. Maybe you guys didn't see him rub Danny's head in the locker room after they made the playoffs last year.

Totally agree with sportster.

I'd go with this "how do you like me now" as 80% "who's the man! I'm the man!" and 20% "Pay up!"

Kurt was lights out, was psyched about it, gave all the interviews to everybody, then celebrated with a slightly pointed message towards the man who is going to pay him.

I agree! Kirk Cousins has been the best quarterback we have had on a more consistent basis for years. Have you seen his numbers for the last 20 games? Only Tom Brady has better ones. That is phenomenal in itself. When I think about how KC was a few years, ago and how he is, now, he's a different QB. He has better footwork and he's more sure of himself. Is it just me or does it seem like his arm has gotten stronger? It seems that no matter what KC does, he'll never get the respect he deserves. That's ok because all he is going to keep doing is get better. Just when I think he has a great game, he has a better one. I mean, last night was unbelievable. I can't remember the last time I have seen a QB that connected on so many deep passes in one night. However, it was KC that did it. He's broke many Redskins records. He broke two more, last night. Might I mention, if we go to the playoffs, it will be the first time, since the 1991 and 1992 seasons, which that has happened. Wouldn't be surprised, if that happened. Lastly, I would not be surprised to see him beat the Cowboys. He threw for 364 yards and it could've been more. If he had connected to a wide-open DeSean Jackson and Jamison Crowder in the first game, nor threw that INT in the EZ, the Cowboys would've lost, big.

he rubbed danny head because a memo was sent out to make snyder feel like one of the boys.

but really ... when is Cousins going to be most genuine & show how he really feels about his situation other then when the juices are flowing.

i think its naive to think that with camera on him on national TV he wasnt knowingly sending a message ...

to everyone .... dan, bruce, scot & fans who still question him ... that he deserves to get paid.

Agreed.

But as I said earlier, most wont even notice.... But Im likely going to be at the next home game. And it would be priceless to see Kirk run onto the field in a pair of Oakley's while they pumped Kool Moe Dee at the start of the game..

Some one needs to make this happen. :D

I know the line of thinking. Dak was a 4th rounder. We can go get a Dak. Guess what? We already did. Other teams are marveling at the fact that we got Kirk in the 4th round. Now it's time to pay up. There is no alternative.

If you don't have a quarterback in this league you are dead. No, Kirk is not Brady or Brees, but who the hell is? Get it done already.

OK, let's say that it was an emotional response in the moment, then so were those sullen moments after interceptions. Here's my point, just like those now nearly forgotten moments Kirk has to keep himself above sulking when things go bad and overplaying his hand when things are going well. Right now he is one of, if not the undisputed leader of this team and others will take their queues from him. Celebrating is fine and dandy but knowing who you're celebrating with and how that should be conducted is an entirely different thing. Look no further than the responses to what took place in that moment as proof that his actions, at the time, as ill or well intended they may have been, left open both as possibilities. We can all speculate on the pros and cons of his doing this, but one thing is certain, when you have to do business with others, especially concerning contracts involving millions of dollars, you want to come into those talks with as good a relationship as possible with your bosses. Cousins in that moment, appeared to be holding every negotiating point, his actions may have given DS, SM and Co. reason to pause and ask, just as some are doing here and elsewhere, questions.

I like the fire, but KC's getting a bit ahead of himself. Beating the 3rd/4th string Packer DBs is nice and all....Let's light up Dallas and finish strong in the playoffs before asking for that $$$

Saw Louis Riddick discuss this yesterday (one of the few media people who I trust) & he stated that there is no doubt that they will keep Cousins - it just means that the guarantee money will go way up & there is no way that the Skins can avoid this (save for tagging him again for a large price). However - he also believes that even if they extended him last offseason that the guarantee money would have been a lot higher than most people believed.

In any case - this will get done. If the Redskins were to somehow screw this up & let Cousins walk next offseason they would have a huge fan revolt on their hands, and they certainly don't want to go through that again. They rolled the dice - kind of lost & now must pay the price, but of all the problems that they could incur this is one of the better ones. This will get done.

If Snyder and the FO let Cousins walk then they better prepare to have a full scale riot on their hands. Snyder knows better! The incident on Mon will be soon forgotten & really will play no part in negotiations unless somehow Cousins has a meltdown for the remainder of the season or gets hurt. He has just about all of the leverage at this time, and the Redskins know it. They really have no choice but to sign him & that likely means an extension with a huge amt of guaranteed money. They simply need to see if they can reduce this figure just a little (but it will still be huge).
