how do FSU players get a tomahawk?

I remember in the 90s Florida state went crazy with the tomahawk pride stickers, seemed like every player had an entire helmet filled. But in recent years it seems like FSU will be mid way through a season or deeper and helmets are still somewhat bare. I think FSU helmets are pretty badass and the more tomahawks the cooler it looks, but was wondering if they changed how you recieved a sticker as back in the day?

Florida State's coaching staff and academic staff award tomahawk decals to individual players for great plays or contributions on the field and in the classroom. Players may get a tomahawk for a crucial play, a score, a touchdown, saving tackle or various other achievements on the field. In 1997, the Seminoles began receiving tomahawks for outstanding academic achievements as well. They look identical except the word academics runs down the handle of the tomahawk.

What many fans don't know is that Florida State players can lose tomahawks as well. Poor performance on the field or in the classroom can cause a player to be stripped of the coveted decals.

That's why there aren't that many anymore...

Well i didn't know if policy changed from the 90s to today. I know obviously FSU had a crap load of talent in the 90s so obviously awarded more tomahawks, but also was wondering if it was easier to get them back in the day and standards are jut higher these years at FSU.

I was FLA St. in a dynasty in NCAA '12 and I wish they would be a a little more detailed on their helmets, sometimes like early in the season I can't tell if a player has a tomahawk because it looks like a little black scractch on the helmet, almost like a glitch.

As far as the decals go. The 90's Noles were good. The Noles in the new millennium were not. The answer you are looking is just that easy.
