John Jay High School players allege referee in on-field incident used racial slurs

I hope that this asst coach is put in a position where he 1. goes to jail & 2. has a miserable life after that time. They allege that a racial slur was used, but then state that the ref needs to "pay for cheating us". So which is it - cheating them or using slurs?

So let's get it straight - the coach is named Mack Breed & the players are Victor Rojas & Mike Moreno. Short of a major apology, 1000s of hours of community service (& jail time for at least the coach) & a complete turnaround these idiots should be meant to feel like crap for a very, very long time. Scumbags.

Piss off you unmitigated prick.

You know damn well that I stated many times that there is no excuse for their actions and they deserve whatever punishment they get but you are stuck repeating the same lies over and over.

You are just being an asshole for the sake of being an asshole.

You are blaming the victim and then riding the fence by saying, "I don't condone what they did, but." Be a man and make a true judgement call...don't allow for what they did by extending them their BS that the guy utilized some BS calls and supposed racial slurs. None of that ever justifies them trying to mame a ref...ever.

This may sound crazy, but hear me out on this one. . .

I think they may take high school football a bit too seriously in Texas.

Those two thugs need to be in jail alongside the coach if he actually told 'em to do that.

The ref' should also sue that coach into the middle ages.

And the report I heard was the coach saying they have to pay him back for screwing 'em on a call, not for uttering a racial slur. And even if he did utter a racial slur, those thugs & their coach still belong in jail. You try to get the guy fired; you don't attack him. You can paralyze a guy like that.

Pretty much how I read it as well. I think Scouty has a reading comprehension problem.

No. You are reading into my comments it what you want to read and then being a jerk about it.

I don't even disagree with your comments regarding their possible punishment.

I am through trying to explain my position to you. Your mind is closed to any possibilities but your own thoughts.

Go ahead and spew more insults if you want to. Last night I was tired and a bit testy but now that I have rested up I find what you toss at me rather laughable.

I don't see what has to be "looked" into... It is very clear the official was targeted by the two players and he was no where near the play and clearly the two players weren't going to make a football play, simply went out there to knock the official out.

As I mentioned in my reply - the asst coach indicated that this was retaliation for bad calls yet the players indicated it was related to racial slurs. It almost sounds like they are reaching for any excuse possible. In either case - as you mention - the actions are not justified, and this sets a very bad precedent for others. Are these guys basically implying that anywhere else you can assault someone (or even use a weapon) simply because of mistakes made by others or words that are offensive? Ridiculous.

Exactly, the asst coach, told his players that the ref had to pay for his bad calls, and ejections, so these 2 took it upon themselves to hand out justice. Then the race card bs comes out, surprised Sharpton hasn't lobbied yet to get the ref fired .

Yep & for a variety of reasons the racial accusations don't really make sense. I could be wrong, but I don't believe that either of the players involved in this incident are black. Also - why in the world would some older ref say those type of words at this time when surrounded by people who would be very angry. It just doesn't make sense.

If you read more details you will also see that one of the players stayed in the game (due to a mistake in the ejections) & was flagged for a personal foul on the opposition QB at the end of the game. Is this idiot not capable of learning anything? All three of these fools need to be punished in a major way (and don't want to hear anyone asking things like - "didn't you make mistakes when you were younger?" - nope - not like this).

I agree 100% My son played HS football and if he ever pulled a stunt like this, I would not only pull him from football but ground his ass, take away his wheels and his XBox etc. This asst coach will be fired and never coach again, and what dopes these 2 were for acting out, they should know the difference before wrong and right at this age. I have never seen or heard racial slurs from a ref, and if he did, you bring it to your HC , who brings it to AD for due process, no vigilante shit

No, AGAIN, I was not condoning it. I, AGAIN, state that it was wrong and players deserve whatever punishment they get.

So you can stop being a dick about it and try understanding what I am saying instead of just interpreting it however suits your little arrogant holier-than-thou attitude.
Honestly, not to pile on or anything, but I kind of read it the same way he did. But, sometimes the written word without context is tough to follow.

lol@ thinking racism is only black & white. He supposedly called them dirty mexicans.

And I don't care what he called them, totally inappropriate response to the situation.

If assault charges are brought, like most are calling for, that's exactly what's going to happen. Not that it will make a difference because it's obvious their intent was to hurt him. But will scouty take time off work to protest that court for their decision to look in to the details? "Fuck you judge, you piece of shit, stop looking for excuses for these guys" his picket sign will read.
