Bodo seems to write him off. The other sports writers will now line up and write his epitaph. The vultures always zero in.
He could be fine in 2-3 weeks. He is still #3 in the world and can beat anyone but Djokovic. Hardly a reason to retire unless he feels like retiring. He's 34, hasn't won a major in 4 years, and just got meniscus surgery.
He can contend for smaller titles, but is a massive longshot to ever win a major again.
Did Bodo say anything different?
I agree completely. As long as he's enjoying himself, why should anybody want him to retire. He could be fine in 2-3 weeks. He is still #3 in the world and can beat anyone but Djokovic. Hardly a reason to retire unless he feels like retiring.
Imagine if Djokovic happened to get injured. Feds would salivate at the thought of adding even 1 GS without worrying about running into Novak.I agree completely. As long as he's enjoying himself, why should anybody want him to retire.
I know he's been looking forward to this Olympics very much.
