I know Texas is down this year but are they really that bad? Are we going to kill these guys, or are they really a good team that overlooked UCLA and lost a close game to a good team in OU. I would think talent wise they must be on par if not better than NU. I read that they are ranked 6th in total defense, but they have not looked that good against the run.

I think we need to get a lead early, if not it could be a close game and then who knows.

I would suggest a close game. Mack has had 2 weeks to prepare and he knows that any chance of a successful season now would have to include a win versus Nebraska.

I think NU should do well running the zone read because Texas isn't too smart on defense when they have to think.

I hate playing this fucking game..but damn..K-State did beat UCLA and UCLA did beat Texas.....

if you change the setting to wins only, texas cant be proved better than us, but its funny how it takes like 9 rounds for them, and takes NU 3 !!

I don't think they're that bad, lacking in experience in some important positions, but they have a lot of talent. It just makes me feel better to think they are.

Texas has a really good defense that will try to take advantage of NU's fumbleitis by stripping the ball.
Their secondary is good enough to be able to play man-to-man on NU's rcvrs enabling them to stack the box against the rush. Martinez can't make mistakes throwing the ball. NU can't self destruct with penalties and turnovers and can't give Texas the short field. NU rcvrs need to block well on the perimeters and downfield.

Gilbert has NFL arm-strength. The offense they were trying to get him to execute earlier in the year has been shelved. They've had 2 weeks to work on an offense better suited to his strengths. It may take a couple of series for Bo and Carl to make adjustments to the new look.

Texas has not run the ball well this year. If they struggle again tomorrow and NU can get a decent pass rush, the secondary (who's been relatively quiet since Washington) could be in for a big day.

Who's this 'texas' team? It just sounds stupid, I don't like seeing it very much

Texas is not a bad team.........they're a team with more talent on both sides of the football than almost every other team in the country. They're just waiting to explode in my opinion, but their offensive coordinator might be standing in the way.

I am very nervous for the game tomorrow, because if we turn the ball over deep in our own territory a couple times...........we will then have our hands full.

I do not think they are that bad, but they are not that good either. I watched the UT-TT game very closely, and I am not sold on Gilbert yet. He left a lot of balls hang in the air for a long time, and his delivery seemed slow. I said it that night (before they started losing) and I will say it again, if Texas cannot run the ball to aid Gilbert the UNL secondary will have a field day.

Many point to Gilbert's second half of the national championship to prove that he can throw exceptionally well. However, even then he was leaving balls hang and just was lucky that he had Shipley on the other end. Shipley is gone, and the remainder of the weapons are not so strong.

I do respect the Texas defense. I just believe that Martinez learned his lesson and will give the ball when that is the read. I do not think that Texas can stand up for four quarters to all three (Martinez, Burkhead and Helu). Much like UCLA, I expect the run game to open in the second half.

At least I hope I am right, since we already bought tickets to Jerry World (they were selling too fast for comfort).
