The less said about the Reds set the better.

The Rangers welcome the yanks for a 4 game weekend set at the grill. The Rangers are 14-10 and in 1st place, and the yanks are at 14-11 and in 4th. Rangers are +4 against 2022.

Texas throwers will be Heaney (7), deGrom (7), Eovaldi (6), and Perez to close it out (1:30). Reminder that tomorrow is City Connect day, and the Rangers will fly with the Peagle.

I am trying to think back to when was the last time we have had a AAA pitcher with this solid of a stretch. Most likely it was Derek Holland's first 5 games with OKC in 2010. Not sure who else had such a stretch over the past 20 years or more for us in AAA.

From Baseball America:

The most notable change up top is that of North Carolina high school outfielder Walker Jenkins. He jumps fellow high school outfielder Max Clark and Tennessee righthander Chase Dollander—who is still looking to re-discover his 2022 brilliance—for the No. 4 spot on the board and is now the top high school player in the class.

His name was getting the most buzz within the industry with all the teams picking in the top five in our latest round of feedback.

“People are going in and coming out very excited,” said one scout of Jenkins. “He’s humongous. He looks like Josh Hamilton. The area guys in North Carolina say they haven’t had a guy like him since Hamilton. He’s legit.”

A 2026 outfield of Guitterez, Carter, and Walker Jenkins sounds great.

Maybe Sebastian Walcott at SS with Seagar moving to DH by then too.

MLB Power Rankings: Who's No. 1 one month into the season?

9. Texas Rangers

Record: 14-10

Previous ranking: 11

The longer the Rangers hang around first place in the AL West, the more they give credence to the idea that they have a shot to contend. That was no sure thing a few months ago, even with their big-name offseason additions, but manager Bruce Bochy has Texas playing good baseball. Adolis Garcia is heating up, too. He went 8-for-19 with three home runs over a four-game span from last Friday to Tuesday, earning him AL Player of the Week honors. All three of his long balls came in a historic game for him on Saturday, as he went 5-for-5 against the A's, driving in eight runs while totaling 16 bases. Garcia had a whole week of production in one game. -- Rogers

Go Rangers. No lineup. Maybe a move or two or injury update
