The play made ZERO sense...If the D was stupid enough not to cover the ball, I could see snapping it and giving a shot, but that wasn't the case...They should've called a timeout, quick-kicked or something along those lines once they realized the play was busted...

The best was the ref explanation.

"The entire right side of the line was off the line of scrimmage"
