I decided to give this a try since it is on sale on Steam for $18.

i played for a few hours last night (got through 2 classes and wandered around the school for a while, aimlessly). Does it get better? Very little of the environment can be interacted with and the map is very confusing, making exploration almost pointless.

Does the game get better? Granted, I am not a huge fan of the HPverse, so this game may be doomed for me, regardless. But it has AMAZING reviews on Steam, so I was hoping it would deliver from a gaming perspective, at least…

The maze that is Hogwarts is to fit the description of the books. If you did not care for the books I imagine it is just extremely annoying.

Clicking the button that gives you a glowing path to follow helps.

To answer the question, no it does no really change from what you are experiencing, once you get freedom to leave school grounds and fly it opens a few new things, but the game is what it is. I enjoyed the combat as unique, but that eventually gets repetitive as well.
